I'll let you know if NI ever gets around to sending me my serial code. Going on 3 hours now! From what I've played until it's closed on me for not activating it, I find it to be an excellent synth with lots of possibilities. Certainly worth the $79 US. If hard electronic music is your expertise, then this is a must buy IMHO.musikmachine wrote:So what do you guys who've bought it make of it now you've had some time with it?
Only problem is you're dealing with NI. Other than that, go for it!

Was the Mouth Half Price???A.M. Gold wrote:Agreed, but most of it is pretty good. I couldn't resist getting The Mouth when it was half price recently but still haven't used it for anything.![]()

Native Instruments IMO are awesome I love their products I think out of anyone they have got it right. The video to the mouth as well is brilliant.

Very playable. The only thing I'm finding a bit annoying is when you open the selection of osc or filter types and select a different one that screen closes and you have to go back and reopen it again to select another - not brilliant ergonomics but all-in-all hardly deal breakingmusikmachine wrote:So what do you guys who've bought it make of it now you've had some time with it?

I love it!
It just invites experimentation. Not a one trick pony at all.
I thought the visual display might be a bit of a gimmick, but it 's actually very useful to see what going on with the sound as you fiddle.
Sound is very digital. Not one for the analogue freaks.
Well done Ni/ errorsmith.

This seems to be a great synth thet brings something new. But these "dubstep" demos get really, really, REALLY annoying.
I'm sure this thing can do some really new and interesting sounds.....the sounds in the demovideo could have been done with almost every other synth.
Sadly NI has to be "Trendy" all the time
I won't buy this though. I'm sure It will be included in the next Komplete update and I won't waste my money this way again
Cheers

I don't make hard electronic music but i like a synth with character. The filters on this sound great, can you use them with the vocoder?Triphop wrote:I'll let you know if NI ever gets around to sending me my serial code. Going on 3 hours now! Anyway, thanks for the reply. I think i will buy this but i don't know how my cpu will handle it. I sold Ace cause i couldn't really get the most out of it and have held off buying anything else until i upgrade my cpu so i'm trying to get as much info as possible. But this is soooo tempting!

Thanks. Are you using it in kore? How's the cpu hit? I want to use it in maschine so i'm trying to figure out if it will be able to cope.aMUSEd wrote:Very playable. Yeah the sound is one thing i'm not quite sure about. I'm looking at this as a vocoder first and a synth second. Need to hear some more demos (no-dubstep!:P)ians wrote:I love it!

Here's a preliminary Kore template for controlling NI's new ensemble for Reaktor, Razor, in Kore 2. It was a bit complicated to create so is not perfect yet - Razor works fine in Kore but not all params are automatable and the layout is not well optimised for Kore so I have had to make some compromises. Because there are so many osc and filter types available I have made some user pages do multiple duty for all OSCS and also for filters that have the same layout/auto ID's but it doesn't work for all so some filters have their own user pages. It should be fairly straightforward though.
Also I have made a version for the nkplr (Player) version and one for an ens version as personally I like to work with the ens version as I like to then be able to mod it but some may only have the Player. I have provided a path for where I placed my ens version but you should be able to change it. This template can be used to import all the Snaps as KoreSounds as well as to control this very playable synth.

I will post on my site later too
