Great job Adam!

Supersaw emulation sounds amazing, but i think ill pass, due to missing very important things for this synth: Pitch envelope and portamento.

By the way isnt there a second oscilator on JP? :)

Despite that i think it sounds great, but for the price/feature ratio id pass :)

As far as you done the job now, i think better to continue and make a full JP8000 emulation :)

I sent you my moneyz :) You released just in time for my absolute need for it. Yay! :) How long till I receive the download/serial?

Post

I have to second that. This could be so darn good with a pitch envelope and portamento.

monophonic porta is fine 2 implement in SM,
poly is little harder, but if Adam is keen he can figure something out.
He has a fine evelope implementation I hear, so he could use one of those if he likes.
These 2 features SM is capable.
I plan 2 produce w/- my own plugs for a while, but if I change my mind I will check this.
Beautiful GUI IMO

I havent implemented porta because polyphonic is very hard in SM, but I guess I can figure something out. About the pitch envelope, come on guys, be creative :) with lfo on the pitch you can simulate some nice pitch envelope effects!

Post

I'll try to think how to do poly porta Adam.
Think trog has an example maybe.

What about direct support for Pitch Bend and Mod wheels I mentioned earlier and maybe the on/off switch for the Delay section?

The latter is certainly nice to have, but the former is a must IMHO.

Post

there is a pitch bend module that outputs an integer value, I've never used it.
hmm it outputs 16383 different integers. You can scale as wish.
I hope you are not troubled by me answering your users Adam, I can butt out if wish :)
mod wheel responds to midi learn. i send you a knob with the midi learn if you want adam

One glaring defect for me... it seems as though the LFO is not MIDI Sync'd?

Really? I hope I overlooking something. :)

Post

nice sound, but there is no stereo effect, I'd add chorus effect (just like in JP) to make the sound more spatial because it is narrow

Post

+1 I agree, the chorus/flanger would be amazing on this thing. :)

so far I am very happy with my purchase except for the LFO not being BPM sync'd... I would love to be able to set up 1,2,3,4 bar lfo sweeps. hmmm...

Post

no bad overall sound, but i will wait for a full JP emu with the other waveforms and modulation possibilities...

Very nice sound ;)
Good punch in the bass domain, lush and defined saws.

May be a stereo effect, like a reverb or chorus, could be nice.
But on the other side, you can add one after ;)

This is probably better to concentrate on synthesis than effects, as there is already a delay for the WOW! effect ;)
May be just more options on delay (ping pong, crossover...) would be enough.

For now, if you want a nice freeware and simple chorus :

It is lush and old school ;)

About reverb (because it is a big part of trance sound) Glaceverb is a good candidate.

Stereoizer freeware/Pro is very good for simple and effective stereo image too :
