^ This is the model, Eric. It is a Standard.
That's fantastic. I never even knew something like that exists. Home run for Gibson!

And that's only the tip of the iceberg ...
Dimarzio has some good options. The Blues Bucker is supposed to sound like a P90 when it's humbucking and a true single coil when it's split. The EJ Custom is supposed to sound like a loud Filtertron, with the chime of a single coil and the fullness of a humbucker. The 36th Anniversary PAF is supposed to be surprisingly single coil-ish, as well.

Seymour Duncan, EMG, and Bill Lawrence all have options available. I've even heard that the Carvin Holdsworth pickup is good for sounding like a single coil.

I'd like to try a Bluesbucker sometime, but I've only seen them in stores in black, I want zebra.

I know I can probably order one somewhere, but I am in no hurry since I don't have a guitar I really want to put it in.

gets me every time

Speaking of LP's, I just saw Gary Moore from the fender "strat pack" show doing red house. Um, man it sounded great.

Point? I though he was mainly a LP guy

BTW, rather than starting a different thread I'll hijack this one :hihi:

Has anyone ever used the EJ jazz III picks? Question: Why?

They are so small, you can't do pinched harmonics very well (if at all) and chords are just messy. I like how well they keep their point but I just don't get them at all

Gorgeous! It's clear it's a nice thick maple top. Is the back wood swamp ash? It seems like it from the figure in the control cavity.

Thanks for adding to the list, Eric !
DiMarzio sure do some good pickups, shame that over here only the metal stuff is known. I always had a soft spot for the Humbucker From Hell though, stupid name for a unique tone between HB and SC (neck only afaik).

I'm often guilty of that. :scared:
When someone is less experienced, they'll often get excited by what they hear is possible, even if it's not something they're currently able to coax themselves.

It's pretty easy to get custom colors and other options ordered from Dimarzio. If I ever get around to replicating the PRS Private Stock I've been eying, I'll order zebra 36th Anniversary PAF's with gold screws and studs:

I still need to get a guitar for it first, I am not really sure I want f-spaced or not.

Ibanez AMF73 Artcore Semi-Hollowbody Electric Guitar

I'm kinda feeling a semi hollow body, have been thibking about and epi dot (yes I said epi) but I like the size of this. I called around and found one in Derry NH so I'm going to go check it out...it's cheap enough

It really looks great! When are you going to go check it out?
