Thats not a bad situation to be in i reckon, Except when you stand on a plug barefoot like i am prone to doing. but it is a rather quiet one, for what's supposed to be a studio.NEKRO.MACHINE wrote:Thats not a bad situation to be in i reckon

Is it due to giving everything an inspection and clean, Just rearraging for new gear/make better use of space or a rash strip down with regret in hindsight?
I can not see it beeing the latter with yourself as you never come across as a rash type of guy but everyone has there moments
Hope that it is up and running again soon FWIW and all the best

We have the three pronged variety here oppose to your two. So Gary.G and myself suffer a trident of pain. I have cut my feet up a few times as one had a cheap plastic design with a copper end and it snapped clean off in thy foottrimph1 wrote:I stepped on a few IC's here...not fun...

Basically its an attempt to get a better use of the space, and fit everything I'd use within arm's reach. My basic problem was that there was an old sofa in the room which was in the way, and my 24U high Euro modular was stuck in a corner such that I could either use it, or everything else...NEKRO.MACHINE wrote: Is it due to giving everything an inspection and clean, Just rearraging for new gear/make better use of space or a rash strip down with regret in hindsight?
So I dumped the sofa, then decided I now had room to swap everything the desk on my right-hand side (everything in/on/around it) with the keyboard stand on my left-hand side.
That gave me the chance to move the Euro modular and the desk it was on to the left-hand side too, since those two desks are the same type. That basically gave me a double-width desk, which I can fit two 12U stacks of the Euro and my Bugbrand modular on. So I can reach all of both systems from my chair, and I still have enough 'surface' left to be able rearrange most of everything else I use so that its within easy reach too.

Going round the bend i think
Me and cords do not get along..especially when I step on the meat end of those things...
I'm in the process of DIYing a mic preamp...and, of course, I'm doing this with an approximately 25 sq cm worth of work space...

you absolutely correct actually...I haven't done much with my animation software lately but all this needs is the interviewers dialog and for me to animate the actions to match the dialog. I really do not have the voice for it, how about you? I'll send you the script...this goes for nyone who wants to take a shot at it, the dongles dialog is completehibidy wrote:Yeah, I wanna hear it
Of course I want to see that dongle interview too (did he just go there!)
Thanks to everyone for the compliments, tbh a diy synth is part of my future plans as well, perhaps a theremin first. I also found another site for pedals http://www.buildyourownclone.com/fxkitindex.html
Of course finances play a big role so I do what I can, when I can.
I'm going to request a diy forum in site stuff, I think it would good for all things diy including hardware and software. There are basics and complicated things that could be useful. For instance setting up a guitar or cleaning contacts on keyboards to complicted builds and diagnostics...if anyone supports the idea please chime in to the thread in site stuff

Had the same for about two weeks before the missus put her foot down. Took about the same amount of time to get everything back in working order.whyterabbyt wrote:actually at present its more like i have a pile of midi cables and a pile of usb cables and a pile of audio cables and a pile of power adaptors and a pile of distribution blocks and a pile of plastic and metal boxes with knobs and stuff on them and an impassable floor...
Very handsome build there Hink.

nah, its not about profit, i have an idea of building a few into a single box, rather than in single enclosures. nice sturdy wooden case with 5 or 6 of the most used fx crammed inNEKRO.MACHINE wrote: You will not make profits off the kits really (presuming you are thinking of doing that) but you can if you build from scratch but it takes a little longer

i did build this , very usefull for listening to interweb radio around the house/yard (almost one block coverage!)...they have lots of other kits as well...tbh it probably wasn't the best idea for a first build, but i got it going with a little help from Ramsey...

Something along these lines ?vurt wrote:nah, its not about profit, i have an idea of building a few into a single box, rather than in single enclosures. nice sturdy wooden case with 5 or 6 of the most used fx crammed in

Some very good ideas there, much ahead of their time !
MXR also had something similar.

If only they had MIDI ...
Used to have the UE300, compressor, chorus and TS9 in a floor unit, though nowadays I enjoy the flexibility of velcro-based pedalboards.

Man, for a while I dreamed of getting a UE405 and moding it to be fully patchable. They are tough to find though! Also trying to find and SCI ProFX...

You can fit it with delay, eq, compressor and reverb modules. Each with patch recall.
One of the first projects I built on a bread board was a bunch of circuits from Craig Anderton's Electronic Projects for Musicians that I could patch between using bits of wire. I think half the fun of that project was the fact that I didn't know what the hell I was doing but I got sound out of it.
