One can always hope...
no,we'll see a behringer....
You know that Behringer's US headquarters is 3 miles down the road from Mackie, right? I wonder if the tunnel under Mackie is complete at this point...

Oh, yeah, buy ValhallaRoom. (sorry, too tired to cleverly integrate this into my post)

Shimmer wasn't invented in a tunnel. It was more of a concrete bunker, in the old Nike missile base off of Novelty Hill Road in Redmond. The base has supposedly been shut down for years, but is heavily patrolled by black F150 trucks driven by armed dudes in camos. Rumor has it that the government uses the old silos to conduct research on...things. Unspeakable. Things.

Getting there. I won't bore you with the bug details, but the current bug is a showstopper, which means that it is probably very simple, like forgetting to initialize a pointer somewhere or the like. I'll keep posting progress reports.

Thanks for the update Sean! Makes the hours of pacing and hand-wringing worthwhile. It's like waiting for a new child to be born. A stubborn, uninitialized child, but lovable all the same. :D

I started playing around with a new preset, vaguely influenced by the EMT240 impulses I found, but tweaked to produce more of an ambience sound:

Code: Select all

<ValhallaRoom pluginVersion="1.0.1" presetName="GoldenPlateAmbience" mix="1" predelay="0" decay="0.00150150154" HighCut="0.718791962" earlyLateMix="1" lateSize="0.349999994" lateCross="0.25999999" lateModRate="0.12323232" lateModDepth="0" RTBassMultiply="1" RTXover="0.124242425" RTHighMultiply="0" RTHighXover="0.179194629" earlySize="0.00940940902" earlyCross="0" earlyModRate="0.143434346" earlyModDepth="0" earlySend="1" diffusion="1" type="0.333333343"/>
I used the preset to process the "industry standard" female vocal track:

At the beginning of the track, the Mix is set to 0%, and is gradually brought up to 33% by the end of the first verse. The Decay starts at 0.25 seconds, but is then increased, to get longer and longer dark plate sounds. Later on, I mess with the Bass Mult and High Mult controls, to get less dark decays. Near the end of the track, I start adding modulation. This shows how the reverb can be quickly tweaked to go from very short ambiences to long decays.

Mwahaha! You fell for the old "improperly pasted URL" trick! SUCKER!!!

:help:

See, this is what happens when you put a computer in the hands of a terminally sleep-deprived person.

Here's the proper link:

Sean, there's a call for you on Steve's line. It's the always polite and courteous Windows Concierge service. Something about booking a Vroom. :hihi:

Why, THANK YOU. Once I check out of the current fine establishment I am in, I'll be sure to get right on that.

I can't wait to try it :)
I'm sure this will be a great addition to EOS and Shimmer.

Cheers
