Hmmm, could well be that users just thought that a company that praises it's product to be 'Cross platform' as first 'Main feauture', would surely try to make available the VST versions for Linus and MAC as soon as possible.
Since one has not as many voices as one would possibly want on the feedback forum, one has to be strategically.
And not too many users that care and did vote for some features did get many voices back so far... (Hint!)

Exactly, I expected it to come with every update until now. I never thought that Jorgen is not even considering this! Thus, I didn't consider it to be an explicit feature request. I guess that is how most people see it.

Yes, surely it is an inherent part of eXT that it is available as standalone and as a VST? I don't understand why Jorgen hasn't been providing these VST versions. I just presumed he couldn't get them to work so they hadn't been released

me also

i still believe this is the case!!

if it was not much work to get vst on all 3 platforms then i'm sure it would be done by now,

i think Jorgen's comment meant "there's not much demand for it plus its loads of work to do!" not not "i did not think anybody wanted them so i never bothered"

as XT2 is not my main host i would love to see the vst version get some love!!

whats a sig?

heh, lot's of users are voting for some other serious upgrades, because, in all honesty, there are too many things that need to be updated in xt itself before even thinking porting this program to mac vst/au or linux vst/ladspa/whatever.

But after many years of working on a cross-platform version of eXT2 surely Jorgen's code base should work on all platforms out of the box by now. Surely by now it should be just be a case of recompiling for each operating system. If Jorgen cannot do this after so many years of eXT2 being released on multiple platforms then I am concerned about the code used :(

you are quite right about that...

ok, I've made a request on feedback forum
http://energyxt.uservoice.com/forums/31 ... st-version
go and vote for it!!! :D

Post

Strange, what else should we put explicitly in there now?

If I was a Linux or Mac user I would - if I could...
But: I still have 0 votes left. :(

@Jorgen:
Please mark the feature request
'Let us define the loop region with Ctrl + left click / Ctrl + right click'
as completed so that possible MAC and Linux users get some votes back.

...And then maybe you wouldn't mind to implement the tempo track and release another 42 votes... :)

Since energyXT is advertised as being multiplatform, I had assumed that plugins work on OSX. Is this not true?

Post

Unfortunately not.
You may vote for this 'feature' here:

Heh, maybe it is the same for all the numerous bugs in eXT2.5, maybe we have to put in an explicict request for each and every bug to be fixed :-o

Anyone have any spare votes to cast to ask for automation to be fixed, maybe Jorgen just doesn't think we are bothered about it causing crashes

Why is there still not VST version???? Thiswas one of the main features that contributed to the success of eXT1.4 and yet it seems to still be absent from eXT2.5 on two of the three platforms Jorgen claims to support?? Yet another example of where eXT2.5 is a backward step from eXT1.4 :(
