Yes, try to derail your own topic with an ignorant looser remark! That will make you look smart. If you want real instruments, try the sampled ones in Music Studio, they are highly praised.

Sorry I dont drink cool aid, I like something that has a bit of taste to it

So you collect i apps, nothing wrong with that. Anyone can do it - dont make anyone a musician though.

@UltraJv: You make me sad.

I've had a lot of fun with the iElectribe. I'm working on a track now that features the iElectribe run through some filters from my modular synth. I have other drum machines that can do far more but I like that I can play with the iElectribe where ever I go. Some may see it as a toy but that has no impact on me. I use toys to make music all the time.

So far I only have 5 or 6 apps for my iPad but I use them all the time. Particularly TouchAble. I carry that around my studio so I can control Live without sitting at my desk.

I love my iPad and the music apps for it. I think of it as one step closer to making music tools accessible to non-musicians, which is not a bad thing IMO.

Tools have been available for some years to enable non musicians to make a noise. Thats why the world of music is in such a mess and the result sounds awful with much of it sounding too similar

You really don't have anything intelligent to say at all, do you? It is already established that you don't know crap about apps, Mr. Stylaphone, and that your definition of a musician by the instrument he uses is retarded. And now there are specific tools that enables non musicians to make noise.

For your info, People have been able to make noise since the stone age. They need no iPad for that.

I broke down and got iElectribe today - it's also extremely cool - no overlap with the iMS-20 so it's worthwhile to get both. L O V E the recordable knobs. Great sound too.

After trying out a lot of demos and freeware for iPad, I have to say I prefer this kind of hardware emulation with built in sequencing to the mini DAW-style apps. It seems to be a more natural fit to the form factor... just my 0.02 mind you.

Some folks get surprisingly threatened by technology, which is weird if you consider this is a music technology site!

My iPad will first arrive april 22. iMS-20 gonna be my first download...with a good deal of others to come.

I stood out in the cold for it for three hours. Granted it was a nice sunny day for March 25th in Montreal, but I think I was verging on hypothermia by the time I got into the store. So I paid for it, and not just with money.

I just downloaded the IMS-20. I also have the original hardware controller that came with the Korg Legacy VSTs.

Fist attempt to plug the controller into the IPAD=no go , too much current consumption from the controller. Added a USB powered hub between the two and Hardware Nirvana.

I can twist a knob on the controller and see the on screen control move..

that is the way to go if you have one sitting in your closet, like I did .

So is it possible to code a vst/au plugin that would fool your iPad into thinking another IPad running the iMS20 had started running and sync them up - Not worried about the audio stream, just so they are synced using this new feature :-

or have I really missed a trick and there is a dead easy way to sync my Ipad to my DAW that I haven't tried. To be honest I've not got the camera connector thing yet for my iPad and I haven't tried any wifi midi control either as I was waiting for the dust to settle a little and see what options become available (that Alesis audiocard thing looks interesting but not out yet...) but I am starting to get the itch to take things further and this sort of thing would be cool imo.

FWIW, last weekend me and a mate had a little jam with my Macbook & PadKontrol running Nerve & my MOPHO, and manually synced the iPad MS20 to them and also a Monotron linked up to a little Alesis Mixer with a basic effects section. Crazy fun!!!! Using the Kaos pad on the iMS20 with one hand and jamming a screaming lead line on the Monotron with the other is the sound of the future, I'm telling you.......

Well maybe not but it was fun.
