As of name suggestions up to now

The SFX Squeezebox
You know, like:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Squeezebox
That one is too oldfashioned ;-)
edteneyck wrote:How about Symbiont Box?
not really catchy enough - your patches are far better ;-)
werd wrote:perhaps ZyfyZound Box or Zyfy Zound Zxob
names too much distorted ...

bend-in-a-box
or
Pelzebox
You can do better than these :D
chas48155 wrote:some quick ideas, nothing too original i'm afraid:
noiselab / noiselabpro
soundbox
EFXlab or FXlab
spacelab
dronelab (maybe that exists already though, sounds familiar)
cleverbox
audiobox
re-evolver /revolver
bonglab ("bong" as in the sound a bell makes, and something to help you get monged)
bongbox
as you said: nothing too original i'm afraid

Well, I don't really like the suffix "box" at the end.
Could be Bliss Lab ... but this is still not catchy enough ...
ravasb wrote:Labradrone Retriever
a little more distorted like Le Bra Drone Retriever would be more funny but the GUI is not matching as the bra is missing ;-(

During yesterday's research I did remember the movie Forbidden Planet from 1956 being the first movie with a complete electronic soundtrack using sounds that could have been done with this plug.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbidden_Planet
Soundtrack done by Louis and_Bebe Barron

so we might have "???????" and as sublabel "The SciFi Sounds Lab"

btw more great patches have come in ....

How about "The Id Box", so named after the film Forbidden Planet with its extensive spacey electronic score.

Or Krell Lab, in keeping with the theme and the crazy sounds(I liked 50's Lab, very evocative)

BoxLab?

LabBox?

:)
My music is a fusion of jazz and funk. It's called "Junk"

I think "The SciFi SoundsLAB" will be the best name for this "originally"
Synth. It makes sciFi sounds & noises and everybody will reminiscent to
a old soundlaboratory of the 50/60ties....

Kaleidoscope Sound Lab

Yep, most suited ...

The Forbidden Planet reference is very apt. I had just done apiece called Krell Music using Hollow Sun's Oscillosine when HG Fortune released this instrument. Well, the two instruments complement each other perfectly.

If the name was "ID Machine," "Krell Lab," "Morbius Madness," "Altair 4," or something similar I think it would help customers understand immediately what to expect. And HG is right, this instrument does do a lot of the things the Barron's did with their circuitry albeit a lot easier.

I am writing a piece right now that uses both instruments and will post when finished.

Some astronomical terms (all these terms are names of stars):

- Sirius Drone Station / Sirius DroneLab / ~ WaveLab
- Antares Drone Station / Antares DroneLab / ~ WaveLab
- DeltaCentauri WaveLab with DeltaCentauri as the main name (big letters) and "Wavelab" as an additional label with smaller letters

Or

- Sonic Transformer
- Wave Transformer
- Drone Transformer
- SonicShaper

Or

- Helios SoundLab (Helios = god in the Greek mythology)
- Hydra WaveLab / ~ DroneLab (Greek mythology, this snake thing with lots of heads ;))
- Hyphnos ...
- Phobos DroneLab / ~ DroneStation
