Doesn't do multitouch, and not much use with applications not optimised for touch (no such thing as 'hover' on a touch device, not possible to 'swipe' a bank of buttons, tiny icon/control issues etc).
However, where these limitations dont matter so much, VLC and LogMeIn ignition are possibly better alternatives to Citrix for most people. XenApp is a great product, but it's very much designed for enterprise deployments.

Everything Adydub said. Citrix is frickin' awesome, but it's designed for enterprise deployments; you have to have a Xenapp or Xendesktop server.
That being said, you can (as Adydub said) install Logmein Ignition for remote access to your computer, or if you're on the same LAN network, you can just install a VNC server app on your desktop/laptop, and then download a good VNC viewer app for the iPad, and try that. Depending on what you're trying to do, it may or may not work. It depends on your DAW and workflow.
That being said, I know of quite a few people who used cheap/used/out of date laptops to control their powerful DAW's a room away, for years. Now they've gravitated to netbooks or iPads. So there are people out there using this type of setup.
