are the pads really that good?
hey bud! whats yur problem?

Post

check out torley's videos, razor does sound awesome for ambient type of sounds. that includes pads. but right now I have a big appetite for that vocoder, presets sound totally badass.

There are some good pad and sounscape demos here too http://soundcloud.com/sampleconstruct/s ... for-razor/

No joke, man. Just thought I'd let you guys know I noticed something odd. Plus, I sent the post on the 31st!

Has anyone had any trouble installing Razor?? I am. At the end of the installation, I get an error message that says: Could not access network location Profiles\All Users\Application Data\Native Instruments\Installer Log. I then press cancel to exit, and the InstallAware Wizard pop-up reads: "Razor setup has failed: "FALSE". Please check your settings and try again." This has never happened before, and I own a lot of NI products. I'm stumped. I've searched my computer to look for these folders, but nothing. Is there a problem from my end, or did NI send me a bad link? Any computer savy people here that knows the problem? Any help would be much appreciated :)
No more of that talk or I'll put the fµcking leeches on you, understand?

Post

I did contact NI days ago, and no response yet. I probably should just call them Monday, since their e-mail responses seem unreliable, from what I gather here. Man, I really want to try this synth!!! The waiting is driving me CRAZY :bang: :nutter:

It's not really that good, I mean it's not really worth worrying yourself to the last thread of a yarn about. If you have Komplete (I don't) or every NI instrument ever made individually (I do), you'd really be yawning over this instrument.

Dumbstep = music made using only samples
Smartstep = music made using only synths
:P

Post

Dumbsmartstep = music made by guys that don't know that all the oscillators in their "synths" are only samples of real synths.

Spoonstep:

Music made with only presets.

huge bug ...

disable all effetcs , and safe bass section and all the rest , just keep the basic osc , set it to saw .
Now set razor to poly mode , now sweep the master pitch up to down while pressing a note , sweeep to -44 semitones ( keep note pressed down), notice how the basic saw tone has this awfull noisy charachter , if you release the note and press it again , that noisy overtone has dissapeared .
Before anyone asks , no the quality setting don't make it dissappear.
This only happens in poly mode, and I thinkit has to do something with partials getting out of phase when sweeping the pitch in poly mode .
