Would you care to be more specific?VariKusBrainZ wrote:fek, its just crashed again
- What was the last thing you did before the crash? Did it crash while playing, or while tweaking params, or while closing the GUI or unloading a project?
- Does it crash randomly, or can you reproduce the bug sistematically?
- What are your buffers? Internal Zyn Buffer, Asio Buffer, ASIO driver, Soundcard?
- Do the menus still act weird?
..Also.. in case it happens... if the Zyn GUI gets unresponsive or shows corrupted data, try closing the dummy window and reopening it.

Its a pain in the butt because when Live crashes I have to reboot my system otherwise theres a good chance Ill get a blue screen (I think this is linked to my creamware drivers). So I cant quickly restart the app and try to reproduce crashes.....which is obviously a huge disincentive!!
Creamware Pulsar v4.5 driver
Asio Buffer 512
Zyn buffer 256
Ill get you more info if I can deal with rebooting after every crash

Please try:
zyn buffer 512
oscil size 512
See (experiment
) if it is better. Also experiment with oscil size 1024.
May i also suggest trying ASIO4ALL asio drivers? So you don't have to deal with blue screens. Actually they are quite good drivers. Performance may also improve!

I will try zour suggestions, though I dont think I can use the ASIO4ALL with this soundcard, its just not an option.jackoo wrote:Please try:

Jackoo, I tried it and it's the first time it works without jbridge, but only with 1 instance. All 16 channels work fine. When I open up a second instance... the main ZynSub window with 'edit instruments' and 'panic' loses its graphics. When you move something over it's window, that window gets painted over zyn. Both zyn instances become unresponsive. Cubase 6, 64bit.

@bjporter: I need an answer to this:
Does it still do that if you load the second instance while the GUI of the first instance is off? (dummy window of instance 1 is off)??
LE: I'm unable to replicate the problem

Jackoo, here is the answer:
This does work, thank you!
Bug: I got a bit distracted playing, with 2nd instance open... had a ramp w/ 30 stacked saws, and reverb... zyn played fine, but froze... I then closed out that instance, opened up the first instance, closed that out, then opened the 2nd instance, and it worked fine.

so the gui sometimes freezes while playing?
I need to understand the current problem:
1. If one instance is visible and you load another one, the gui gets corrupted. and this happens everytime, not randomly?
2. If you close the dummy window after the gui gets corrupted, and reopen it, then it works again?
Nevermind.... i see a problem in the code already....
If you have two instances, and you close one, the GUI thread gets destroyed, and the second instance GUI will crash

@jackoo: that was a bad explanation. It seemed like a random thing. It was playing fine from the keyboard, but I couldn't, for example twiddle with the cutoff knobs, or press "Panic" etc. Nothing would click, I couldn't even move the window. However, closing out that via the host window, then opening the other instance of zyn, then closing that out, then opening the first back again, it worked.
I don't know if that was random or not.

@bjporter: Could you please be so kind as to test if this solves the bug:
<<Removed>>
[just the 461 build dll file... did not pack all of it] solves the multiple instances issue on my machine...

@VariKusBrainZ: I understand that you have a pro soundcard, and don't want to hear about ASIO4ALL
.. I was just thinking to use the ASIO4ALL temporary so you won't have to reboot every time you have a crash, while testing.

I tried both the 460 and 461 .dll and noticed 2 things (no significant differences between 460 and 461)
1) The GUI freezes quite a few times, after which turning knobs don't respond "visually" to tweaking anymore, but will make the sound change For example turning the volume knob with the mouse will make the sound go louder or quieter but you won't see the knob turning.
When a preset is loaded with lets say a reverb and i want to changhe the type of reverb clicking dropdown menu this will make the menu appear outside of the gui. Changing the type eg from cathedral one to hall 1 will change the sound but you will still see cathedral in the gui) Closing and reapening the gui does the job
I can most easily recreate the problem by scrolling down presets using the scrollbar in the browser window. Most of the times this will make the gui freeze. Closing the dummy window and reopening will solve the problem and you can go on working.
When opening gui of 2 different instances freeze of 1 make the other gui freeze too.I had a crash of reaper once , I think when 2 gui windows were opened at the same time.
2) Also I noticed in this build hovering with your mouse over a knob will not make any dialog text boxes appear (with information on the knob or button you are going over with)
Hope this helps,
Cheers,

another try..
buld 462
<<Removed>>
In the open xmz dialog please use the arrow buttons to scroll and do not drag the scroll bar
I know this is weird but it's the only workaround i know for now.
If the main zyn window is corrupted, try to click on a menu [File, Instruments... etc]. It may revive the window.
If you do not use the open dialog
does it still corrupt the GUI?
