Not sure what you mean? BigTone made presets for the full Alpha 3, I dunno who made the factory sounds for the free version. Likely some are derivatives from those. But there's no requirement to use certain patches, you can make your own if you want.

This is probably nothing to be worried about but my WOT app in firefox classifies linnplug.de as unsafe with a bad privacy reputation and possible malware risks
Usually WOT is very reliable and among the very best Firefox apps imo, so I just thought you (and the linplug guys in particular) should know

Thanks for responding guys!
I will enter the competition. And I won't make the mistake about host plugins; I mainly use free plugins.
There are free plugin packs which have the same function as most host plugin; take for example the BJ and TAL plugins. They're the greatest!!

How fast can you type "Yeah, baby!" in 19 topics?boyd12 wrote:I really want to enter the competition, but I haven't got 20 forum posts yet... I am registrered for a while now. So if i get 20 forumposts before I enter my entry, can I still compete then?
Or do you have to got 20 posts at the start of the competition?

There is hope!folderol wrote:Well this is where I have to walk away guys. No Linux version
A quick test with the installation of Free Alpha via wine and LMMS shows that it might work with Ubuntu Studio Lucid Lynx here.
Just when we began to kill all involved processes after waiting for a minute or so Free Alpha appeared on the surface and made some lovely noise.
We will test the workflow under serious conditions in one or two weeks and hopefully join in the competition.
Cheers from sunny Ruhrpott/Germany

Don't know if i am just stupid, but i've installed this into FL's vst map and it doesn't work. All i get is a sampler wrapper and the text in the place the plugin should be: Loading plugin free Alpha 64 (bridged)

Oh, i'm not sure if every sound in the alpha free is made by BT, LinPlug made different versions out of Alpha, for example LinPlug made a version for Computer Music (CM), Keys Germany, Beat and others...Happy Frog wrote:AlphaFREE is the one that comes with the (BT) soundset right, I want to make sure I am working with the right sounds.
Every version got his own presets!!!
If i remember right, a lot of guys did presets for an earlier version (Alpha2), they were all in the full version, Summa, BT and me did special sounds for the other versions, i did special sounds for the Keys version but you cannot load sounds from the CM Version into the Keys and vise versa because of small changes in the engine..
Alpha 3 can play all sounds from all version...!!
by the way, thanx for the contest, i will post it on the Linplug Facebook fan side...!

might be, as i said, i don't know if peter had other sounddesigners who delivered presets lateron, which he included into the stock presets over the time... however: for the new version of alpha free, when alpha3 was new, i made 64 presets for alpha free, and it was delivered with _only_ these presets in the beginning. anyway, these patches were for the normal, donwloadable version directly from the linplug site. for alpha3 (the payware) there were quite a few sounddesigners from the beginning, iirc...Xenox.AFL wrote:Oh, i'm not sure if every sound in the alpha free is made by BT, LinPlug made different versions out of Alpha, for example LinPlug made a version for Computer Music (CM), Keys Germany, Beat and others...Happy Frog wrote:AlphaFREE is the one that comes with the (BT) soundset right, I want to make sure I am working with the right sounds.

i never made patches for any of the special alpha free versions/editions, i remember of 2 additional versions/edition at least, the "hispasonic" version and the "cm" version, but i think there were more "magware" versions... dunno the differences between these special versions either...

I see now all factory patches have indeed BT endings so they should still be yours untouched.
