Well, not exactly. I've only watched the video maybe three times. The first time I was caught up in some of the other layers of badness (and, as we all know, there are many of them).debra1rlo wrote: so... it's several weeks in, this thread is 25 pages long... and after all the videos, covers and HUNDREDS of silly gifs (many of which contained references to these lyrics)... and NOW YOU'RE JUST GETTING TO HOW AWESOMELY BAD THESE LYRICS ARE????
I don't like the way she sings in this song (though I heard her singing a snippet of the (American) national anthem on Good Morning America and it was somehow considerable less annoying).
I also really don't care for the melody at all in the song, or really anything else about how the music was written, so those were the factors that sort of had me doing this the first couple times:

This resulted in me not completely absorbing how bad the lyrics were until the third run-through.

Well the numbers definitely mean something to certain interests. I picture the execs at Google sitting back in their ergonomic office chairs saying "Excellent...excellent..."robojam wrote:Numbers mean nothing.GaryG wrote:84 million views...

I am a member of a subscription service that lists opportunities for songwriters to connect with label reps and managers who are shopping around for new material for their artists. Just today a new listing appeared:
"13-year-old female pop artist signed with management is looking for songs.
An album is planned but no release scheduled.
Artist will be disclosed upon contact made."

Well, the truth is it could be anybody, and the management company is located in NY, not LA, but beyond that, the coincidental simiarlites (and the timing) are striking!

And there's also this: they aren't telling who this is up front, which I find intriguing as well, since I think it's possible a lot of songwriters would turn tail and run quickly away from Rebecca, whether she deserves that or not, simply because of all the negative exposure she's accumulated up to now.

I thought of that, but we would need someone with a daughter who can sing well enough to do the demo.lockon stratos wrote:Dude, we should all collab and make a song for her.
