Geez, tough crowd, tough crowd!

Here's the skinny on these audio clips... they are taken from the AmpliTube Custom Shop trailer, which you will all become quite familiar with soon...

They work pretty well in the context of the mix there. (Remember, many of you are listening on studio monitors, but most people who will be watching the trailer are using desktop PC speakers...) Isolated, some do sound (and look) overcompressed. But this is not from the amp models, it is from the trailer production.

Don't believe me? Well, you'll just have to try them for yourselves then, and see what you can do with them. And you will all have the opportunity to do just that very soon.

I think what happens is people invest lots of money, time and energy in getting their "tone" and then it becomes like a religion. No one wants to think theirs is "wrong" even though the enlightened know that none are really "right." There is no spoon!

So everyone becomes an evangelist of their method of getting what they consider a good guitar tone. Part of that evangelism is taking shots at opposing products.

The truth is when I've done poll here before on the most popular software amp sim, Amplitube came out on top with a pretty healthy lead. That was v2. I only imagine it would be better now. Anyway, examples don't tell any story other than the taste of the person making/approving it. The proof will be when we can get our hands on it and make our own noise.

ZC, could you define 'taking shots' because there's a fine line between taking shots and criticism...a line that is further blurred by language barriers and miscommunication due to posting online.

FWIW I will be most interested in whether or not the cpu footprint has changed, yeah new models is great and AT3 is great sounding. However I do not use it as often as I might because for recording while tracking I often have to increase my buffers to the point where I just start to notice the latency*.

However, I do prefer using some form of a 'reference' amp while recording with direct monitoring (use to be my POD xt but now that I can mic a cab it's a real amp more often) and as I have stated before I like sims for re-amping. However, not finishing songs for so long my re-amping seems to be very rare (but man do I have options).

*stand alone AT3 and other sims can make for an enjoyable afternoon of model surfing

tbh when I bought my egnater a few months back I was torn between the TT and the Egnater Rebel so I tried both quite a bit..the TT is really a one trick pony (great at hi-gain) and there is nothing it does that cannot be done with a lot of AT models already in AT3. I do not want to be accused of sounding negative but this smacks of marketing and not something new to look forward to. It will look nice on the monitor, it will sound good but it's not filling any void

edit: the clip is very accurate as to the sound of the TT imho

Brian, you mentioned that a Custom Shop amp model would cost between 5-20 dollars. From the SonicState video, it shows the new models that you are currently showing on the forum can be bought for 20 credits.

So, I guess one credit equals one US dollar.

So, a Fender Princeton (or Soldano SLO) - 20 dollars
Cabinet to go with that amp - 5 dollars
Current modeled stomps - 15 dollars each (stomps seem to go from 5-15)

25 dollars an amp/cab.

Can I buy as little as 25 credits (dollars) to start?
Or if I have JamPoints to redeem, can I buy 12 and 1/2 credits?

I see my "30" jam points have turned into 9 jam dollars. I guess that can be applied.

Gear Credits will start at $1 per credit, but they get progressively cheaper when you buy in bulk. Plus, you can use Jam Points for up to half the cost of a Gear Credit purchase. So to get a new amp head, you will be able to spend $10 + 10 Jam Points to purchase 20 Gear Credits.

ok, I'm beginning to think you are doing it on purpose. That's the worst yet.

So, lets try something. ZC let me ask you this honestly. Do you think that audio clip for the Tiny Terror sounds good? Forget tone or style, does the clip sound good?

I was working on trying to get a Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs sound. This is how what I came up with. Still too much gain, not enough sustain, but getting close ..

That clip is pretty much at the level I would use it in an actual song.

Now, that's %100 ITB with the exception of the Deja-Vibe. Path is
Strat->Vibe->UA-710->Aurora->Cubase->Head Case. No other effects on the first clip. Just Maxed and Limited on the 2nd. And this is just me f'n around. I'm not trying to sell anything.

Can you seriously say that the Orange clip is listenable?

Amplitube next models? What will they be?
