Looking for a simple, free recording app for Android - xperia mini.

Something that will save to mp3 preferably.

Any ideas..?

I have the pay version of this one (if you can call 5 bux "pay"...) but there's a free one.

I think the sound quality is quite good, and it records in a few diff. formats - wav, ogg, aiff; it says "mp3 (under certain circumstances)"... don't know what that means... the moon has to be in a particular phase or something?

Thanks for the recommendation. I had a look at tapemachine and it looks very good, but too much for my needs and...

"TapeMachine Lite, available on the market is limited to 1 minute of recording and playback (per file), and TapeMachine Unregistered is limited to 30s until it gets unlocked by purchasing a license key."

So I'd rather see if there's a free, simple recorder before I go for that.

There's a few on the market but I just thought I'd ask here to see if any KVR folk have opinions.

Well, I finally had a chance to try a few out yesterday and as I suspected, most of them are crap. The only mp3 recorder I found just wouldn't work at all.

Anyway, I finally settled on this (just in case anyone's interested)...

It seems to be the best of the bunch - at least on my phone - and it's easy to use. Doesn't do mp3 though, only wav, but I can live with that.

I bought the full version of tapemachine for my HTC desire a month ago. I wanted to use it for recording an 6 hour seminar but it drained the battery after 2 hours.
It is great for doing shorter recordings and it is fun to skip around using the touch screen. The sound quality is good, but it depends on your smartphones mic.

MP3 recording depends on the cpu of your phone, and if i remember right, it doesnt record directly in MP3 but converts afterwards.
