Not really listenable, but it's not just shreekingly horrible. The biggest problem with the IK demos is that they are mostly so limited they compete with the worst sounding record ever, St Anger.SJ_Digriz wrote:ok, I'm beginning to think you are doing it on purpose. That's the worst yet.
So, lets try something. ZC let me ask you this honestly. Do you think that audio clip for the Tiny Terror sounds good? Forget tone or style, does the clip sound good?
I was working on trying to get a Robin Trower Bridge of Sighs sound. This is how what I came up with. Still too much gain, not enough sustain, but getting close ..

That clip is pretty much at the level I would use it in an actual song.
Here is the same clip absolutely obliterated by max/limit
WARNING this is louder than the last clip by a lot

Now, that's %100 ITB with the exception of the Deja-Vibe. Path is
Strat->Vibe->UA-710->Aurora->Cubase->Head Case. No other effects on the first clip. Just Maxed and Limited on the 2nd. And this is just me f'n around. I'm not trying to sell anything.
Can you seriously say that the Orange clip is listenable?
This is NOT what a wav file should look like:

But that is what this looks like and it zaps any possible dynamics or "cool" factor. I've been bitching about this for a while.
The first BOS sounds fine, and of course the second one is just awful (and I practically jumped through the roof.....I'd say point made

Looks a lot like Rebecca Black if you ask me ...hibidy wrote: This is NOT what a wav file should look like:

You're obsessed with that girl !
Gone are the days when songs were mixed to look like this old Donovan tune :

Oh well ...

If/when this is released, there will be a two day demo for each one right?
Right! that will be the pudding proof......to each their own and as SW likes to point out (and rightfully so) YMMV

I find my mixes sound better in black & white... more old school vintage!
Yes there will be a 48 hour demo for each model.

it wouldn't matter for me, I see guitar tone and notes as colors and textures in my mind anyhowBrian @ IK Multimedia wrote:I have colors disabled on my monitor.Hink wrote:ooohhh colors

So will 3.5 be a completely different install or will it simply update from 3.02? Will my C/R simply get those models unlocked or is there going to be a long torturous method to get everything ship-shape?

You're going to be seeing a lot of Orange...Hink wrote:I see guitar tone and notes as colors and textures in my mind anyhow
3.5 will update 3.x, or be a new install on it's own. All of your existing gear will be there... and not for AmpliTube 3 users only... same goes for Fender, Ampeg, even ATJH and Metal!hibidy wrote:So will 3.5 be a completely different install or will it simply update from 3.02? If you install it on a fresh system, you will need to click the "Restore My Gear" tab in the Custom Shop application, and that's it. (You will need an internet connection for CS.)
