Any other questions?

Hi...you say that you no longer need to be connected unless you want to browse for gear, but from your FAQ page:

However, in order to try new gear models, you must be connected to the Internet at all times.

So I have to have an active connection for the entire 2 day demo period???

Yes during the demo period the computer must be connected to the internet or you will not be able to demo the gear. After you have purchased it then it is fully installed and you no longer need the internet connection.
No longer with IK. Here is my Website | Twitter | YouTube | Facebook | Instagram

If you read my post you'll see I didn't call anyone an idiot.
you're right, you did not directly call anyone an idiot...my bad...but it still doesn't help your case adding the word idiot because of the suggestion it makes...in does suggest that the point is stupid...those things never help imo. I'm sure there are better ways to put things without having to go there and I'm equally confident that you possess the language skills to put things in a more respectful manner
I could probably touch up my lingo, but I'm just cranky and tired of hearing the same old laments from the same old haters. Hink, honestly, why are you even talking about your beloved Vandal in a thread about Amplitube 3.5? Really no point other than to stir up sh!t, and when sh!t gets stirred I can't help but sometimes start flushing.

Yes, we know people hate connecting music computers to the internet (I'm a few feet away from someone who makes her living doing professional audio and music and I can assure you her machine is never not hooked up to the internet)

Yes, I know people don't like C/R authorizations

Yes, I know people don't like dongles.

Yes, I know people don't like Amplitube.

Yes, I know people don't like amp sims.

What I don't like is people who constantly seem to feel they need to make those same points over and over and over again. There's no one forcing you to do anything.

So, how is it actually working?

for the record...I am not a hater and I would like to know if anyone else believes I am...but if you do do not take this OT, send me a PM...if I come off as one I definately need to look inwards...but I do not think I am hater.

No ofense will be taken
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

If I had to list haters on KVR you'd be bottom of the list for sure. Some people seem to like misrepresenting other posters in the most ridiculous ways for no apparent reason.

One thing you are not John is a hater and I think anyone here (except one deluded person) would say that without having to even think it through.

There's an entry for an "Amplitube 3 Free" in my account, dated today.
Apparently a feature-reduced free version, I suppose.
Can you use this on an internet PC to get trials/buy models for an offline DAW ?

Come on folks @ IK, why not clear up these matters once and for all, in an easy to understand, complete way instead of dropping little puzzle pieces here and there ?
This is not fun like last year's picture hunt was, this is annoying, sorry.
You could avoid so much needless negativity on here caused by rumours and guesswork, stand by your chosen business model, explain it, enjoy the praise but also deal with constructive criticism.

Just saying,

Yes you can BUT at one point you will still need to connect that computer to the internet to download the gear. After you buy it on one computer, even on a non DAW computer, it is linked with your account. After that you go to ANY other computer with AmpliTube 3.5 installed on it and click "Restore my gear" under the ACCOUNT tab in the upper right of the Custom Shop window. This will activate the models from all of your previously purchased Powered by AmpliTube products for use in AmpliTube 3.

As for Authorizations if you ever have any problems or need help you just have to let us know and contact our support. :)

Any other questions?
Thanks for clearing that up, even though it's bad news ... :(
No go for me then ...
That leaves one more big question :
Does that mean I can't use 3.5 on an offline machine at all ?
I own all AT products available till now - would they need to be "restored" too to work with 3.5 or is this only true for Custom Shop models ?
I fear I know the answer from your reply, please confirm.
Thanks,
susiwong

+1,000.

I don't want to get in the middle of anything...wait, I do.

I'm biased because I know Hink personally and I know what a wonderful person he is. The insults are uncalled for and just wrong.

zerocrossing, what's got under your skin today?

I have to +1 that. I've always gotten along with you (mr crossing) but I really think that the debate could happen without the harsh stuff.

Then again, I'm not exactly an angel :troll: but I'm just saying.

Ignore the troll, his statements speak a clear language.

You can update your existing AmpliTube 3 to 3.5 without needing to connect to the internet. And your existing AmpliTube authorizations should work to unlock all original AmpliTube 3 models on a fresh install. You will be able to take advantage of the same software you currently have at 64-bit on an offline machine, you just will not be able to use the Custom Shop to buy new gear.

We may at some point have an offline solution.

Brian,
:phew: , that's good to hear ! :phew:
Now I can also appreciate ObiK's promise of being cool with extra auths, should the need arise. :tu:
Thanks for clearing this up, guys !

Now that is out of the way, I'll be waiting for an offline solution.
Please include offline demos then, gotta hear what you're buying.
Works great with UA, for example.

:foot tapping:

In the meantime, I have a question.

Since AT3 is currently residing in my x86 folder, what would be the best way to update? Is it as simple as having the x64 .dll in the appropriate folder?
