Well, is this a fun thread. :D I haven't checked out AT3.5 yet, and clearly there are still many bugs and problems with the new system, and I hope everything goes smoothly with my upgrade... but what if we forget about all this for a second?

I have a great guitar amp sim right now (AT3). I use it a lot, and I'm very happy with it. The only thing I wish is 64 bit compatibility, and of course having even more amps/cabs/etc (=more guitar tones) never hurts.

So, there we have the 3.5 update. Whenever I wish (it could be wise to wait a little while?), I can update to 3.5 for free, and then I have everything I had before, but in a 64bit plugin. Hey, that's more than wonderful! But there's more: I can also buy more virtual gear, if I come across something that sounds good to me. Nice!

Sounds very simple to me. OK, of course I understand it's very very frustrating when things don't work like they are supposed to (who knows what bugs and problems there are in store for me :)). And it's a slightly different situation if you don't own AT3. But as a longtime AT1/2/3 user, I don't see any reason to complain. At least not yet... :hihi:

The x64 isn't kosher it seems. Ah yes, I too had thought "hey, this is a great plug but x64 is desired"

Anyways, I'm just back at x86 with the bridge........I've put up with it this long.....why not

Gotta say this was a very nice surprise gift.
Install and operation smooth here (Win 7 Home Premium 64/Athlon X4/EXT2.5) and it works and sounds very nice.

I like the idea of the custom shop and I may very well buy a few choice trinkets to kit the thing out. This is the whole marketing idea, I know, but I could easily come up with 20 bucks now and then, where I struggle to justify one single large purchase.

So, thanks IK guys. Good move.

We are aware many audio professionals prefer not to connect their DAWs to the internet, and we may be able to provide an offline solution at some point in the future.

I do not see this as a free app.

This is the long promised 64bit upgrade of what I have.

Many other companies I buy from have done that for free long time ago. OK. Many, not most. Most charged extra for the upgrade.

Still. I do not want a free demo product with nag screens.

I read through much of this whole thread now and find that many users complained about the sames things I complained about. No response. IK ducked for cover. Ooops. We made a mistake! Acknowledge nothing. Say nothing.

well, I agree with some of what you are saying.

Subject: Authorization Code Request Notification

Dear Eric Swardt,
Your request has been successfully processed.

You have already requested 2 authorization codes for this product.
You are allowed to receive up to 5 authorization codes for this product.
Eric, T-RackS EQ that starts with TEQ is the free standalone EQ we gave away 2½ years ago during the 1 Million Downloads Celebration. Perhaps you have upgraded your computer since then and used a 2nd authorization?

I ask, because if you use the Authorization Manager to authorize on a system you already authorized the Digital ID for, you will not be charged a new authorization. It is not possible.

PM me your IK username and email, and I will have Tech Support contact you directly to help you access your user account, and look into what's going on with your authorizations. I can assure you, however, that you do not have 2 authorizations on the same Digital ID.

Sonar x1=crash when changing presets
reaper=no mousewheel support ( though it's fine under x86)
Sonar x1=no mousewheel support with x64 or x86
Sonar x1 gargantuan CPU use with x64

My specs are i7860/win7x64 ultimate/8gb ram/profire 610 and I run at a paltry 44.1 sampling rate and 128 buffer.

Still looking for an answer:

Do I have to keep Amplitube 2 installed (+ SVX UNO and JHE)
after installing 3.5 CS?

Is 3.5 CS acting as a wrapper for AT 2 or does it look thru my registered Amplitube sw and enables them automatically?

You can uninstall AmpliTube 2, and clicking the "Restore My Gear" tab in Custom Shop will unlock those models for you in 3.5. You will lose access to your legacy presets, though. AmpliTube 3.5 will load .at2p presets, but only if AmpliTube 2 is currently installed.

Thanks hibidy. I have forwarded your report to the development team and support.

Thanks,

I haven't saved any presets anyway, I'm always tweaking the ones that come with AT.

Just to clarify it even further: when time comes for a system reinstall or upgrade, do I have to install AT2, JHE, XGear...first, or will Custom Shop remember what I had before?

The problem I had with AT3 when I demo'd it was the huge amount of RAM it sucked up on my admittedly modest machine.

I was wondering with AT3.5 as you have fewer components if the RAM consumption is reduced, or are all the components still getting loaded but locked so you cant use them.
