I can confirm this. The 64-bit dll and the uninstall files will be saved in the default folder chosen by the program. The 32-bit gets installed in the folder chosen by the user though.V'ger wrote:Anyway, still waiting for the keyfile, but there's an bug in the installer (windows) that even when the x64 version is deselected from being installed, it will still install to the suggested path C:\VSTPlugIns even if I chose another path for the x32 version.

+1 one for the previous/next buttons AND a lock button on the Mix slider. If we get enough people asking for this I hope Sean will reconsider. He had to fall back to linear knob movement in ValhallaFreq due to user demand so there's a sligt chance here.ttoz wrote:My gripes? unless i am TOTALLY imagining it, there is no host preset integration, and the on board browser doesn't have next patch/previous arrows? OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! We MUST issue a total recall and have a month more of beta testing the installer!V'ger wrote:Anyway, still waiting for the keyfile, but there's an bug in the installer...

Consider it a feature.Architeuthis wrote:OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! We MUST issue a total recall and have a month more of beta testing the installer!V'ger wrote:Anyway, still waiting for the keyfile, but there's an bug in the installer...

D'oh! Thanks for telling me that. I'll look at the installer script and see what's going on there.V'ger wrote:Ah finallyBought this untested, I know from Shimmer it's gonna be goood.

I bought it sight unseen just based on the audio demos I heard, and immediately placed it on a track I'm mixing. I'm loving the results. This is such a cool sounding reverb, and versatile too. You can get scary real ambiences out of it, and awesome artificial sounding verbs too. I love it.
That said: I'm totally in favor of adding previous/next buttons to the preset management system. And while I'm at it, I'd also love a mix lock feature. Those are seriously not show stoppers or productivity killers in any way. Especially not when compared against the awesomeness of the sound.
Great work Sean!

Is this a beta tester cover for missing a blatant obvious?Architeuthis wrote:OH GOD NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!! I didn't fall back to linear knob movement in ValhallaFreqEcho due to user demand. I feel back to linear knob movement because circular knob movement sucks.jensa wrote:+1 one for the previous/next buttons AND a lock button on the Mix slider. Just kidding - I just had some serious confusion in FreqEcho around people's preferred behavior. Plus, the knobs in Juce defaulted to circular behavior, which is a mistake.
I plan on putting a Mix lock button (or some sort of lock mechanism) and previous/next buttons in a future version of ValhallaRoom. The effort in the last few weeks has been on porting the existing code base to Windows, and building an installer. The installer took WAY too much time.
As far as upcoming tasks, it looks like the current highest priority is making sure that VRoom works for all Reaper users. After that, I will work on Mix lock and prev/next buttons. I need to do Windows RTAS somewhere in there.

Is the installer only unpacking to a specific path?
We could have done that faster with unzip and you'd saved the time building the installer..

Yeah, but when you want to uninstall (and no one ever would - so it's a false argument) - you'd have to actually delete the dll files manually yourself. Or your studio intern would. This way you, or your intern, can wade through the control panel maze and push the Uninstall button. Much easier.
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

YOU'RE the worst preset browser ever! *runs off sobbing*ttoz wrote:Glad to hear about mix lock and prev/next buttons. WOW. I have been going through the presets one by one, and it almost put me off buying the thing altogether, it was such a painful hassle to do. Luckily i know how to tweak a reverb so am ultimately still going to get it, but yeah, really wanted to see what the coder thought were good starting points. *worst preset browser ever* award. :hihi;
The basic preset mechanism was taken from Madrona Lab's Aalto synth, and came highly recommended to me as many people's favorite preset browser. Different strokes for different folks! Let's Celebrate Our Differences!

I think the preset browser is rad. Love it. Send in the mix level lock (and REAPER fix) and I'm set.
