LINKS COURSE
TRACK and FIELD
FLAME

Is it a sports question? Did they all play together as a team in a five-a-side combination coastal golf and athletics competition, and celebrated their win with some flaming blue sambucas?

Or...not? Is this the right quiz? :wheee:

 you can't guess how close i am to pretending that's the right answer Frank just to get rid of this lousy question (i love finding answers to your questions, but i hate having to set questions particularly given my weird ways of thinking and i feel v sorry for you guys guessing)!!
Alas, no they didn't all play sports together.
It's a logo DESIGN; there's five LINKS on it; it's to do with sport and a big flame; not all the albums have the word 'blue' in their titles, but...
Please take it (and me) away!

Post

Well...it's obviously got something to do with the Olympics...but I'm damned if I can get any further than that. Albums recorded at Olympic Studios? Songs about athletes?

:bang:

I'm going to have to sleep on it...

Please don't go to sleep - i need to get rid of this today!
Wot does the Olympic design look like? How does this LINK into album titles?
Please...
(Of course, it might be the case that you already know the answer and are very cruelly enjoying making me realise with every new hint and post i have to make just how foolish this particular question, and my life overall, really is. Damn you! Damn you all! )

Black Rose: A Rock Legend
The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society
Under the Red Sky

(And no, I was genuinely :bang: with this one...)

Hurrah, well done - thank you!
And sorry about the random question (in all honesty, wot seems like a good theme to me as i think it up here im my lounge just turns out to be some complicated tenuous thing by it comes to KVR!)
Over to you Frank. :)

:phew:

Time for a silly picture question I think...I'll try and get something up here tomorrow.

No time for a picture question at the moment, but here's a nice easy one (so it'll probably go on for days :) ).

What links an unwanted guest for The Stranglers with a missive from David Bowie, and a doubling-up by The Crystals?

Don't Bring Harry
Letter to Hermione
Da Doo Ron Ron

Childrens (and easily impressed adults ;)) favourite Harry Potter?

Post

Correct! Never read any myself, although I was once forced to sit through half a film one Christmas...

Over to you, Gary!

I've sat through most of the films (rest of the family like them) but they all merge after a while for me, not sure why it's taken seven books to tell such a simple tale... (but I'm sure someone will tell me I need to read the books to appreciate it properly... ;))

Will get a question up soon-ish...

Post

Ok, winging this one a bit:

Fill in the missing links to connect the top artiste with the bottom.

James Iha
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
Roger Miller

The connections are simply that an artist has played on a record with both adjoining artists. Too tricky? Will give clues to other artists soon... Aware that there could be more than one cromulent path so will allow any valid chain.

No, don't thank me.

Post

James Iha
Michael Stipe
Placebo
David Bowie
Giorgio Moroder
Roger Miller

Post

um, that's only four artists for seven slots... And quite spectacularly not one of them is right. :D Intrigued my a Moroder/Miller collab though...

This is probably fairly impossible actually, I'll give you the centre artist:

James Iha
-
-
-
Tanya Donnelly
-
-
-
Roger Miller

edit:

to clarify, that's Roger 'Mission of Burma' Miller, NOT Roger 'King of the Road' Miller...

Wasn't Roger Miller the one who whistled?

[Edit] Nope, sorry, that was Roger Whittaker. Not him either, then.
