Cantabile and Zoom R16 problem

Just downloaded Cantabile Performer 30 day trial and it doesn't seem to interface well with my Zoom R16 audio interface. To begin with, it seems to change the sample rate from 44.1 to 96 upon loading. I managed to reset the interface and get an input signal, but no output, and then got an audio engine stop from some unidentified buffer problem. The Zoom has the same sample rate change problem with Audacity, but that's solved by resetting--Audacity operates normally otherwise. The R16 operates perfectly with Sonar using ASIO4ALL. I'm using an HP 8730w laptop Core 2 Quad, 8 gig RAM, Win 7 64bit. Any help out there?

latest zoom r16 drivers etc? Also I found on my system (windows 7 64 bit) only cantabile 64 bit would work with the zoom r16 (and that had to be the 64 bit zoom driver)
