Amplitube next models? What will they be?

I know your beancounters need to factor in the actual transaction cost as part
of purchase price, but maybe after the first $40 purchase, the user could then buy
single $5,$10 and $20 dollar items?

so the more names I buy the more names I can buy? I know this matters to some people more than others but as I see it the price of each includes the brand name and IK's cut. I'm sorry and do not want to sound like a broken record but I see this business model as just a marketing gimmick that is no different than "Coors Lite, the official beer of the NFL".Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:Hibidy is a smart cookie. The profitability of the current partnerships will be what lead to future projects me thinks.
This is not a shot at IK, I still love AT but I choose tones with me ears and not my eyes. What do I have to buy to minimize the bloat and maximize performance?
Best wishes to IK though and I hope this does allow them to invest back into the company, with any luck at all by the time AT4 comes out everyone will have the models they want and IK can then go to work on streamlining the performance.
A little note on that and why it matters...say I take my Egnater and set it up to a tone I like, I pan that to the left a bit and open AT3 panned a little to the right and go to work on getting AT to sound like the amp. But I can't because even in stand alone (and let me make this very, very, very clear...the same holds true for other sims too) I have maybe 3-5ms of latency under the best conditions. Alone that is nothing, with the amp it creates a comb filtering effect between the two.
I can record the amp and a dry track, open AT and be fine...but that's a bit of a pain. It might sound trivial to absolutely everyone else but in reality once I start working with a larger mix I have to increase the buffers until I can hear and feel the latency. I wish one company would set the bar for maximizing performance despite the fact that computers are getting more powerful. No sim is ever going to feel 100% natural until that happens unless all you have played is sims

I would like to see more effort from IKM on maximizing performance. The models sound VERY good but I cannot get below a 256 buffer without occasional pops and clicks and that is not acceptable for live playing. Perhaps there is a give and take to achieving this balance and IKM opts for better sound at the cost of a performance hit. There's a case to be made for that but if you are going to claim to be "the new king of tone" with "More Feel. Nothing even comes close." then you will be expected to set the standard across the board. For these claims and the asking price, customers are justified in demanding the best sound AND performance.

In Fender Fuse editor, if you drag a stomp from pre to post, the gui is redrawn fromhibidy wrote:Er, is the trex echo able to be applied to the rack? or just on the front end?
a stomp, to a rack gui, for the same fx. Should be simple enough for AT3 coders,
if it is not yet implemented. Really no need to redraw, beyond the nice eyecandy ego boost.

Seems to me that there was no rack versions this time out. Shame as I'm with you on that. I'd love to be able to use a stomp, especially a delay, post amp. I really hope IK will provide rack versions of some of these that make sense at no additional cost.hibidy wrote:Er, is the trex echo able to be applied to the rack? or just on the front end?

A 2290 rack delay would be nice
I'm still very confused why IK hasn't made a rack tremolo. It should be simpel. I can do it with the step slicer, but it would be nice with a dedicated tremolo module.

Everything got a refresh with AmpliTube 3.0. the latest advances in IK's DSM modeling was applied to the amps, and the new VRM 3D spacial modeling was applied to all mics+cabs.electro wrote:Have the SVX modules been reworked?

When talking about buffer sizes, your sound card is probably your number one culprit. Personally I use RME as it seems to be able to do very small latencies consistently.

Any idea on how much time the time being is gonna last?Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:Unfortunately, it must be done from the same computer for the time being.susiwong wrote:Hope this www connection doesn't have to be on the DAW.Brian @ IK Multimedia wrote:You will need an internet connection for CS.
Can you do this from another computer ?

But once you purchase your gear, you do not need to maintain the connection.

I'm using a presonus firestudio 26/26 which does quite well too (I also use Samplitude which has not only imo has the best freeze of any host but the hybrid engine also cuts down on latency), in fact when tracking one track is not an issues because the latency is not enough to hear...but I do layer tracks and I like to record each layer not just copy and paste. Not only does is it affect me when I'm playing both through an amp and AT but if I try layering the comb filtering effect makes it very difficult to be accurate. We're not talking a lot of latency, comb filtering (unwanted in this case) is a result of very minuscule delay times (otherwise undetectable) and can cause issues. The problem is compounded because phase issues/comb filtering will increase as you go up in pitch and is not fixed like the buffer length will be.musicdoc wrote:When talking about buffer sizes, your sound card is probably your number one culprit. Now I'm not saying that AT is alone, but of the sims I have it is the worst...I will eventually upgrade to 3.5 because I like AT3 and it's not a deal breaker. It probably will not be an issue to most people to be honest and there are work arounds to avoid it that I have been using for years anyhow, I just wish instead of more, they strived for less
Obviously this is just my opinion and YMMV...I surely do not expect AT to cater to me and I do not expect everyone to agree with me...none the less I do reserve the right to voice my opinions and wishes as well

I'm holding out for a Fender Vibrolux (vintage, not the Custom). And Hiwatt!

@buffer:
I believe it's been stated but I run 44.1/128 and I only run that high because I really can't feel that much latency
My machine is capable of running with the hi res on @64 but it starts to chew a little more on the cpu so I just run tried and true with 128.
