I indeed bought some models from the shop and everything went allright : they are here in my AT3, ready for use.

Yet, I can't seem to see any evidence of my purchases in my user area... Nor any serial nor specific download for those models.

How is it supposed to work, in case of re-install, or if I want to install AT3 on my second PC ?

Thanks in advance for shedding some light on this ! :)
When you buy items from the custom shop, you are just unlocking them within Amplitube 3. That's why you don't see serials for specific models. They are not standalone products. As far as installing AT3 on a 2nd PC, if that PC isn't connected to the internet, you will not be able to use anything from the custom shop.

i thank you Heffus,
for your reply.

Nevertheless it leads to more questions :

-without serials, how will IK keep track of each customer's purchases, and more, without proof (but an invoice for purchase of anonymous "credits"), how will one be able to reinstall being sure to retrieve all bought models... ?

-if the PC is connected to Internet, do you mean that any install of AT3, even on a 2nd computer, will for sure give the same access to all purchased models ?

It would be better for the customer's ease of mind to see bought models in the account... this Custom Shop concept is appealing of course, but leaves a few unanswered questions IMO...

BTW, if I'm not mistaken, I noticed that just by installing the new AT3 version along with the new authorizing system forced me to reauthorize, and so ate up one authorization for nothing (I already had an older AT3 installed and authorized on this same computer...).
Is this normal, or did something go wrong ?

this is why I'm holding out on updating...I'll wait until the patch dust settles :tu:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

When you purchase additional gear it is stored on your account. When you go to another computer you simply hit "Restore my Gear" and it will download the new gear models and authorize them automatically. If you need more than the 5 authorizations please contact our support. :)

@sirbellog
If any PC that you have AT3 installed on is connected to the net, you should be able to open up the custom shop and click on "restore my gear" under the account tab. This should give you access to all your purchased gear. As for the authorization deal, it doesn't seem as though you should have to use up a new authorization if you previously had AT3 installed on that computer. Maybe someone from iK is around and knows more than me.

edit-I see someone beat me to it.

+1
Waiting for the offline shop.
Does anybody know, if Promo codes expire ?
( guess they'll vanish together with Jampoints ? )

bye, Jan

Is this how it's supposed to work? Is this going to keep happening even if I purchase these components? (The other quirk is I can't get Amplitube standalone to work, it hangs from startup.)
Yeah, you have to have the custom shop open. Nope, it won't happen after you get them :D

I don't know about the other, I'm assuming you are using AT 3 free??
Yes I'm using AT3 free. If I try to use the standalone on my user account, it tells me AT3 is not authorized. If I run the standalone on my administrator account, or if I run AT3 free as administrator on my user account, it hangs up immediately from the start. To use the VST, I have to run FL Studio as administrator, then it works.

How odd.

Question, in standalone, can you go through the auth procedure again? Reauthing 3.5 (though I have both the free and the full version) didn't chew an extra auth code. However, I did have many issues with getting my owned products unlocked....at any rate I'm just trying to throw any thought out there as I found it to be a bit quirky.

LOL, the reason I will not upgrade from Win XP. User accounts, administrator refusal, not being able to run certain programs becuase you don't have permission on your own Personal Computer. WTF is wrong with micrsosh!t. All this paranoia caused by made up BS security threats to market that the new OS is safer. What, safer from yourself? :hihi:

I've been using 7 since the original RC and it's terrific. I'll never look back.

If I use a user account, it lets me do the authorization procedure again, but then once it's done, same hang up as before.

Another discovery, 64 bit version VST doesn't work. Looks like I'll hold off on Amplitube 3.5 for awhile.

P.S. I'd give up on Amplitube way before I gave up on Win7/64. Everything else works great on Win7/64.

Post

Well, that sucks.

I also gave up on the x64 version btw

Right now having to close my DAW (FL Studio) and restart it as administrator every time I want to use Amplitube is close to a deal breaker. The fact that standalone doesn't work at all for me pushes it into the no-deal zone.

Funny thing is, my next purchase was going to be Amplitube 3. The demo worked fine before this Custom Shop/Amplitube Free release. Hopefully everything gets fixed, but IK actually stopped a purchase with this latest release.
