Memphis seems pretty similar. I've never seen a Memphis this nice
except in pics but I've played a few Daions similar to yours. I can
only hope this guitar is in the same ballpark.

I'll be looking forward to seeing pics and seeing what you have to say...I put EMG's in my friend's stepson's Memphis strat a few years ago..I told him should save the pups and ditch the guitar. The body was laminated layers (basically plywood), the pups were worth twice the value of the guitarCapnLockheed wrote:Oh yeah...DUH!!Hink wrote:because the link does not end with jpg or gifCapnLockheed wrote:Hrmn....don't know why those pics aren't showing?Hey Hink, you've got that Daion yeah? go for it, check the DIY forum here and please, please...do not be afraid to shoot me or others a pm (or post questions in the DIY forum)...not only is it fun but you'll learn a lot and then when you play it there is nothing like the feeling of playing an instrument you builttodd sweetland wrote:been thinking bout getting one of those diy carvin guitar bolt kits , with the floyd rose tremolo , and get some dimarzio pickups for it . looks like fun .

He..he...yeah, I'd have to agree all the bolt-on strat type Memphis guitars I've picked up weren't worth a damn...the one saving grace is that some of 'em had decent necks. This one is a whole 'nother animal tho. Pics are here:Hink wrote:I'll be looking forward to seeing pics and seeing what you have to say...I put EMG's in my friend's stepson's Memphis strat a few years ago..I told him should save the pups and ditch the guitar. That is a very nice guitar. I recently bought this.TokyoBoneman wrote:Charvel San Dimas Custom Shop -
Certainly not what you linked but the neck is just awesome. Anyways my real point is they had USA ones, custom ones and it was really hard to make a decision. Not a huge fan of the black hardware but it grew on me.

Fender telecaster deluxe, with 2 DiMarzio dual humbuckers.
Just like I owned from the time I was 13, until I sold it in 89.
It had the best sound and action, and I really miss it.
Here's the 73 model I owned,
http://www.grouseguitars.com.au/fendertele73deluxe.htm
but the bridge was different, it was brass plated kind, and the pickups were different, as the previous owner added them DiMarzio ones. I regret selling it, and they're quite expensive now it seems.
My brother bought it for me for $150usd as a bday gift.

Why is a 3 bolt neck a problem?
@mcnoone: We've all been there with the regret thing. We ditched whatever it was for a reason......seemed that way at the time but I do at least partially relate.

I hated it, it's the microtilt with a screw to adjust the neck in place of shims. Mine had issues staying shifting the neck up and down slightly (not back or forth like the microtilt is for and not length wise) so the angle would change that the neck would meet the body, the strings would stay the same height but they wouldn't stay straight the length of the neck. Or should I say the neck would move under the strings so they weren't straight over the whole length of the neck.hibidy wrote:Why is a 3 bolt neck a problem?
