I don't have a Tele guitar yet, but think one would be good to have.
Any opinions on the current Fender models ?
I'm very happy with my MIM Deluxe Nashville Power Tele, relatively cheap and you have to upgrade the PUs but it's a beautifully resonant piece of wood with a nice, substantial neck. A few friends fell in love and bought the same model, they all are on a comparable quality level and the Fishman Piezo is so convenient ...
Also check out the ESP Ron Wood (also needs a PU change), Tom Anderson and G&L ASAT, as well as any number of small custom builders or even a parts guitar, although I personally like to play an instrument before I buy it.
And with a guitar as popular as a Tele the local s/h market might have a nice one, too.
