I don't have a Tele guitar yet, but think one would be good to have.
Any opinions on the current Fender models ?

I have been getting into the look of the things, as well as playability.
This one doesn't have single coils, and I think the top is carved not flat.
I like the wood heaps though, check the spalted maple.
You can find a more classic one on ebay or custom built.
I think it would be nice, but myself, I am going with single coils in classic configuration. I have a couple with humbuckers.

Oh yeah, I have 2009 Mexican tele(there is a minor flaw with the edge that goes out of the neck pocket that was there when I got it).
I dialled the action, and now it the second lowest true action I have played. It's nice, sounds peachy.
I am selling it to finance a Godin Freeway SA, it has a hex pickup(the godin).
I will build one Tele clone out of figured wood.
I wonder what I want in here

I have a godin freeway SA. Not worth it. They don't use roland hex pickups they use ghost riders on the Freeway )other models they use RMC for acoustic & 13 pin)

The guitar tone is much darker then one would expect. The single coil really cuts thru the mix in combination with the humbuckers. Harmonics do not ring out If you tap you will not like this guitar. It does have a strong attack.

RE Ghost riders. They are equal no better nor worse the rmc's for midi. They don't capture the sustain to well and the note falls off quickly. Granted you'll get less false notes then you would with a GK3 but you'll also lose sustain especially when moving up the neck.

on a whim i got a cheapo 82 Peavey, short scale with two weird blade style PUs...has a cool sound and plays well, probably give it to my son (but dad will borrow from time to time :hihi: )

Hey Mike,
Thanks for the heads up :)
I think I'll still give it a shot.
I think there is tone knob for the Ghost, is that right?
I'm pretty sure that will help with my synth conversion.
hmm, that sustain problem has me a little worried though.
Any other guitars with hex built in?
I have considered doing it myself with one of Ubertar's PUs,
although they are not designed for synth.

hmm, I guess I can run the sustain off of the guitar PUs, if need be.

If you have such an awesome cat you shouldn't feel bad.

Then again maybe that's not your cat.

Re Freeway

No tone knob for the ghost. Unlike other SA's the ghost riders do not output an analog signal for acoustic/piezo tones. They are soley there for gk output For acoustic piezo that you'd need to move up to a LGX-SA with RMC's

If you are into,,,,Rush you'll really enjoy the freeway. It has a punchy attack with a balsy sustain.

So what ?
It wasn't his guitar either ... :hihi:

That's the problem with these superfast Ibanez necks, they just hurry in a random direction, the body has to follow as it's bolted on, before you know it they're gone. :P
I've had my share of Ibanezes, none has lasted, can't keep the doors locked all the time.

That said, hibidy, sorry it didn't work out.
The good thing however with guitars :
The shops are full of nice ones.
For every guitar you don't buy there are 724 more waiting around the corner ...
Cheer up and browse some online stores. :D

I played one of these at Musik Messe. It was one of the surprises of the show for me, it's super light, super resonant, and stunningly gorgeous. I have a feeling it won't catch on for people, simply because of the unorthodox look, which is a real shame given the amazing quality. I'd take it over a real Les Paul any day.
