I didn't bother going through 30 pages of posts, so I'm sure this has been said many times - both of the Valhalla reverbs are AMAZING! Well worth the money. I'm a huge fan of having a limited number of knobs to tweak. The range of reverbs I'm getting out of ValhallaRoom is awe inspiring.

Haha, the ATM thing was a (funny) joke.
One thing I've enjoyed doing with VR is using it as a send on a bass drum track with a noise gate especially during more stripped down moments of a song.
The reason I didn't think the decay time was "accurate" is because I was using bassy sound. It would hard for the plugin (and my processor) to take that into account, I think. Still, with this example the reverb lasts about 10 secs, unless I ride the volume or use a compressor. If put the Late Size and High Xover all the way up I can hear it for the full 19(if not longer).
Regardless, knowing the exact reverb time isn't something that's killing me. Those feature requests were more like what ifs.
This one causes a sound on the ES2 synth in Logic to have white noise/digital cliping, or ripping. The volume of the track is within bounds. It seems related in part to the early size because it sounds similar to when you move that knob and if you make the early size large enough it goes away. When I bypass VR the noise goes away as well. If you have Logic you can reproduce it with most of the es2 presets if you change the first matrix slot to cut 1+2 via nothing, source to env2, raise the decay and sustain on env 2, make sure distortion is off and set the filter to high with blend in the middle. I could upload the es2 preset if you want?

A quick update: I am in the middle of work for version 1.0.4. The new features/fixes:
- Mix lock functionality. I tried adding a little "lock" button to the GUI, but it just didn't work for me, so I've come up with a solution that looks elegant to my eyes while still being easy to use.
- Previous and next preset buttons. These will probably be small little triangles. I wanted to use the words "prev" and "next" but the words took up too much room.
- The "invisible text" bug when entering numbers into the slider text boxes will be addressed.
In the meantime, here's a few cathedral presets. I checked a book out from the local university library that listed the reverb times of various cathedrals over several frequency ranges. Obviously, these won't share the early reflection patterns of the actual spaces (I've never been to Italy), but they sound kinda cool.

This is why I like the preset system. Open these up in Live on OSX, paste them into the forum, & the presets can be copied into VST, RTAS, AU on both Windows and OSX.

- Select the text with your mouse, including the < tag at the beginning and > tag at the end.ebow wrote:how do i use these text presets in logic osx ??
- Press the command key (Apple key) and C at the same time, to copy the next (on a PC, use CTRL+C).
- In the plugin, select the preset menu (by clicking once on the preset name).
- Select the option "Paste from clipboard"
The new preset should show up in the GUI, and the controls should reflect the new values.

I just posted a new blog entry, describing the reverb modes in ValhallaRoom, and the differences between the 4 modes:

Looks awesome Sean. Can someone convince me that this is a good reverb to get if i already have Aether, Breeze and Shimmer. I am so tempted but i also want to stick to an absolute minimum for all plugins. So what does this add....

why would you want to be convinced ?? having spent that amount of money on quality reverbs, would you really want to find you're missing something ??Exhile wrote:Looks awesome Sean. i have, over the last few years, come to the conclusion (not an original one), that if i can't HEAR why i need it, then i don't
there's a demo, check it for yourself
