Hey Arde,

just wanted to drop by to say thank you for this great piece of software, it's perfect for my needs and the GUI even stands the comparison with many commercial plugins - well done! n the Only thing i was missing in the short time i tried out now was (already mentioned) the option for the random direction. Also i had some problem when i chose the 2nd preset on the list named something like "aciddose" or something, caused reaper_host32.exe to crash and produced some evil static/noise so i almost thought it'll blow my speakers lol. Not sure what happened there. No problems though in the 2 hours before where i made some tweaks myself with the init patch. :)

Greetings, chk

Edit: Oh, regarding the problem with reaper_host32.exe, i use Windows 7 64-bit running Reaper v3 64-bit, been using Kirnu to control the TAL-U-NO-62 VSTi. Of course, maybe the mistake was on my side, not sure if routed everything correctly... i simply added a receive for TAL-U-NO-62 and chose Kirnu.

It is still not working properly in my Cubase. Fist chord is always wrong - arp simply is not working in first chord, second and other are normal.

Win 64, Cubase 5 32.

thanks for thatone!
though in studio one pro it has a constant lag, it's always too late for the same ammount...
i also miss an "as played" or "note order" mode, where the incoming order of notes defines the order of arp-playing.

@ brok_landers: It has that option, check the "Sort order" button.

I have an experimental version of Kirnu ready which can be used in Logic.
This version uses IAC buses to move MIDI data between Kirnu and Logic.
The version is very unstable though and I don't know if this hack would be good solution even if it worked without crashes because of the latency issues.

i tried this one! is loading fine on logic pro 8, osx 10.6.6. but i somehow fail connecting kirnu to a synth-plugin.

Looks like Maschine also will require the IAC bus integration as it has no vst midi bus for routing the midi out.

I put a few chords in an 8 bar cycle in my sequencer and Kirnu always misses the first chord on return. This is using presonus studio one. This would be a fantastic arp otherwise.

Post

Any news about missing first chord in Cubase and Studio One?

Post

Thank you for posting that.... I've been trying to get Kirnu to work for an hour in Cubase Artist 6. Once I highlighted (armed) both the Kirnu and VST instrument tracks it works like a charm.

Can't download it. I keep press the bottom left button and no download starts.
I tried in 3 different browser also to no avail.

looks pretty cool!

I just tried to download Kirnu, but can't get it to open. Usually I'll have a .pkg or something that opens a dialog box to load the program. Total amateur question here, but wondering how to open a .vst file. It says it's a MS Word file....

Really looking forward to using this though.

Just tried the download page at http://www.kirnuarp.com/ and it worked.

All download packages are ZIP files. I assume you have downloaded one of these and unzipped it. Please provide more info, I will try my best to help you.

You're on a Mac, aren't you? The .pkg suffix example seems to point that way.

Anyway, as satYatunes says above, you unzip the download. Then you get a folder where you have a .vst file. You seem to have got that far.

Well, then you just drag that .vst file to your Macintosh HD:Library:Audio:Plug-ins:VST folder. That's where it wants to be and that's where your DAW will find it. So, you don't "open" a .vst file - you access it in the VST plug-in list in your DAW.

Please note there are two Library folders - one in the root registry of your System HD and one in your user account. That can be a bit confusing. You should select the first one, not the one in your account (to keep things simple).

Since I install a lot of VSTs and AUs, I have put aliases to the VST and AU folders in the left hand column of my Finder windows. Then I can just drag the plug-ins to those aliases and don't have to hunt around for the corresponding folders.

HTH,

Joachim

P.S. When posting system related questions, always give the specifics of your set-up! Like Mac or PC, System version, and so on.
If it were easy, anybody could do it!

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. So I just put it in the VST folder in my main HardDrive library. I don't see it show up in Logic though. In Logic, how do you open it? I didn't see it when I search through my softsynths/fx.
