Indeed, sir!
With my eSoundz Silver member discount, (something awesome I didn't even know about) and the coupon code, I can get a Rare Instruments collection or Kapsule for under $30. Amazing!

Many thanks to you for the epointz, Torgo! I'll return the favor asap, that Squids Acoustic set is a callin' ...

And thanks to Squids and the gang at eSoundz too. These promotions are totally absorbing, and I appreciate all the effort. AND the DEALZ!!!

Just wanted to point out that if anyone out there is dithering over when to get in on this deal (like I was), the time to do it is RIGHT NOW, NOW, NOW, while the CINCO15 coupon is still in effect.

I just bought both Miroslav and SS2 for a grand total of 2 x (99 - 15) = $168!!!

Also, for anyone else looking to buy multiple VI items, here's a quick supershopper tip on the best way to do it...buy each item separately.

I first bought Miroslav, using the CINCO15 coupon and an esoundz member referral. Once I got the confirmation on a final price of $84, I pulled the trigger on that one, then turned right around and purchased SS2 in a separate transaction, again using the CINCO15 coupon and an esoundz member referral. And again I got a final price of $84. Awesome!

One thing to note when doing this is that I had to remove Miroslav from my cart when buying SS2, since for some reason it was still in my cart, even though I had already received the e-mail from esoundz confirming my Miroslav purchase.

The bottom line on purchasing each item separately:

- Saved 2 x $15 = $30, rather than $15 if purchased together.
- Earned 2 * $5 = $10 in ePointz (since the maximum ePointz per purchase is capped at $5).
- In the second purchase confirmation e-mail, I also found out that my member level had been bumped up to "Silver". I don't know if this is based on total amount of purchases made, or number of purchases made, but it is worth noting.

Anyway, hope this provides some motivation to anyone else out there that was waiting for the right time to buy...the time is NOW.

Also, a big thanks to torgo, your generous sharing of knowledge on this thread was very much appreciated. Enjoy the $10 in ePointz I sent your way...

Whoa. That's some serious value right there. I'm mildly disappointed that I didn't figure this out myself - bought Sonik on Friday and probably could have gotten it for $15 less - but, life is full of such little hindsight should-haves and I still feel like I'm doing pretty well out of the deal. I did pick up the Squids Tron v1 download which came out to under $50 with the coupon, so along with the SampleTron Extras freebie I'm fully stocked with all things Tron for a sweet price, and still have some epointz to play with (I also sent some to torgo for being so helpful here, though it sounds like there can't be a whole lot left that he doesn't already have).

Thank you both very, very much for the epointz! I'm glad to help out in any way I can.

Those are two important tips for anyone who might not have worked out the math already, plus there's a third one...

(1) on any given order, epointz max out at $5 for $100 spent. So in general, if you're ordering multiple items that total over $100, you get more epointz by splitting the order.

(2) The CINCO15 coupon is $15 off your total order, not $15 off each item within the order, so there's another huge reason to order each item separately.

and the third one...

(3) for technical reasons (essentially a glitch), coupon codes and certain items like this group buy block out using epointz with anything in a specific order. So place any coupon code orders first, and then order whatever you want to get with epointz later.

(You might also have to click the "reset coupon" button, as the coupon code might still be entered. That - and the glitch with items remaining in your cart - seem to happen if you have multiple tabs or windows open in your browser. No big deal. Just remove the random or already ordered items from your cart and Reset Coupon to clear out the coupon code.)

Those aren't glitches. ePointz AND promo coupons are just not supposed to work together by design. It's not a charity despite some of the crazy prices from this weekend which are ending today. ;)

Since the CINCO15 coupon code expires today, if you have questions about the IK instruments, this would be a great time to ask.

I'll be around off and on all day and will try to answer all questions the best I can.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A recap of my top ten regular tips:
(1) Regardless of what instrument you choose, be sure to get the free SampleTank Free from the IK web site. You'll need it (or some other version of SampleTank) to play the sounds in your bonus choice libraries.
(2) There are some nice treats on the list of bonus choices, and they typically go for around $40-50 each.
So another question to ask yourself... would you jump on board just for the bonuses? My take is that at six or more choices, never mind the instrument. The extra libraries alone would be a screaming deal - especially with the $15 off from the CINCO15 coupon code.
The catch is that the coupon code expires today, and we're still only at the two choice level. So it's a tough decision. There's no guarantee we'll hit the five choice, six choice, etc level.
(3) IK makes you download your instrument libraries within 30 days. Esoundz doesn't give you a time limit. You don't have to choose your bonuses right now.
I believe that for many people, the number of selections you get might end up affecting which ones you choose. That may sound strange - but it happens. So keep in mind that you don't have to cash in your choices right away. Being patient can pay off.
(4) Since this is an esoundz group buy on top of an IK promotion, you'll end up bouncing back and forth between the two web sites. It can get confusing if you've never been through it before.
The short version: place your order at esoundz. A registration code (serial number) will appear in your User area on the esoundz web site. They fill the orders by hand, so be patient - it may take a few hours.
From there, you'll register your product on the IK web site (you'll need to set up a user ID there too). After registering, you'll download the program and main instrument library from the IK site.
Your group buy bonuses will come from the esoundz site, not the IK site.
(5) All of the instrument libraries will play in SampleTank (Free), but not the other way around. You can't play SampleMoog sounds in Miroslav Philharmonik, for example, but SampleTank plays everything.
Some people (myself included) don't even bother installing the other instruments and simply play all of the sounds in SampleTank. That works particularly well with SampleTron / Squids Tron.
(6) If you're looking for a general purpose collection of all-around sounds, I typically recommend Sonik Synth instead of SampleTank XL. It has a much, much larger sound library.
(7) I'm guessing Miroslav Philharmonik will be the most popular choice among the five instruments. The question I'd ask any potential users is whether you are regular users of the Reason or Kontakt formats.
If so, you might want to consider getting these same sounds in your preferred interface instead. That's especially true for Reason users, who need to stay within Reason's all-in one environment whenever possible.
But for everyone else out there, the advantage of getting it in SampleTank format is that you can get the full set for $99 ($84 if you get it today using the CINCO15 coupon code) along with some bonus choice libraries. In Kontakt or Reason format, the library is split into pieces that are sold separately.
(eight) If you don't know anything about Mellotrons, PLEASE take the time to learn a little about them before spending your money on ANY Mellotron-related sample library or instrument. Trons aren't for everyone. If you don't understand what you're getting, you could easily be disappointed.
I'm a huge Mellotron freak myself. If that describes you - and you KNOW you want as much Mellotron as you can grab, then SampleTron (and the Squids Tron Exclusive Extras as your first bonus choice) is an absolute no-brainer.
But for everyone else, please do learn a little about those machines first. They might not be what you think they are. (They aren't even synths!)
(9) Sonik Synth has a decent collection of 'Tron sounds in its library. It has the "classics" pretty well covered. If you're interested in getting the basics but don't want to spend the cash just for several gigs of Mellotron tape frames and related instrument sounds that you'll probably never use, go with Sonik Synth instead. You'll get the 'Trons plus over 8 gig of pianos, guitars, organs, etc, etc, etc.
(10) SampleMoog is a great collection of All Things Moog, but it's obviously a one-trick pony. It's Moog synths, more Moog synths, and still more Moog synths.
So in that sense, it's in the same category as SampleTron - if you dig the Moog thing, you definitely want it. If you are assembling a monster collection of retro synth sounds, you want it - along with SampleOB Xpander and SampleARP Solo as bonus choices.
But it obviously won't be for everyone.
Again, the coupon code expires today, so if you have questions, ask!
How long does it take before you get the product after paying (Sonik synth2)?
Squids wrote:Those aren't glitches. ePointz AND promo coupons are just not supposed to work together by design. It's not a charity despite some of the crazy prices from this weekend which are ending today.
Squids - the glitches we were referring to are that the stuff you just bought will sometimes still be in your shopping cart when you start working on another order.
I think having multiple windows or tabs open might have something to do with it, as there's a second glitch that fits that same category:
If you have a tab open for one product, open a second tab for another product, and then add the second one to your shopping cart, sometimes the product on the first tab will be the thing that gets put in your cart instead. It's definitely the system doing it, not a user error.
You have to remove the item from the cart, use your browser's "back" or "history" to get back to the product page of the item you wanted, and then add it to your cart again. It works properly the second time.
Nothing major - but they really are "glitches" in the system.
The other one is just a reminder that the ordering system can't mix and match between epointz items and non-epointz items within the same order. (It says so on the order page, but it's easy to miss.)
So if you want to buy this group buy and also cash in some epointz to get, say, the Jerry Marotta Taos drum kit for Infinite Player, you need to place the order for the group buy first and then get the Taos kit as an entirely separate order.
No big deal, but it helps to know that up front.
It can vary, as esoundz fills orders by hand. But if you have already ordered, check your User Area on the esoundz web site. I'd guess it's already there waiting for you.
Click on the "My Downloads" tab on the left side. Scroll down to the section that says "Here are your product serials". Look for a serial number for Sonik Synth 2.
The serial number is what you need from esoundz. You get the actual product from the IK Multimedia web site.
That web site can get confusing, so feel free to ask if you need help with it.
Hey torgo, I think you may have meant "Trons AREN'T for everyone" in the post above, rather than "are"... though I do personally think everyone should have at least a little Tron goodness in the arsenal. Just to keep us Mello, you know?
For those of you buying these products, some combi tips. Combis (layered sounds basically) can be used to quickly extend the sonic palette, so they are worth getting (in my opinion).
There are 50 free Miroslav combis on esoundz (Thanks Squids!)
On KVR my Sonik Synth combis are available...though not as plentiful or as good (Same price though!)
There are combis for sale in the £15-$18 range on eSoundz for Sonik Synth, SampleMoog and SampleTron. Sampletron, from what I can remember had no combis by default.
I can confirm that the CINCO15 voucher worked when I bought the Sampletron & Moog combis yesterday...the Tron combis in particular I like (but Trons aren't for everyone as has been said). Got both for just under $15...
Thanks Tobias - fixed. (Nice catch!)
I had it right in the text file where I originally typed it up, so I somehow managed to accidentally delete the "n't" when trying to edit the post to fix the number eight.
I was trying to get around an amusing glitch (oops, that word again) in the KVR system. If you try to put the number eight in parentheses, it comes out as an emoticon.
Like this: (8)
I tried to fix it but gave up and just typed out the word eight instead.
Anyway, that list had the things that seem to pop up most frequently here and in my inbox of PMs regarding the instruments and the group buy itself. Those are the most pressing items since the coupon code expires today. There would be a whole separate list of questions about the various sound libraries, but those aren't so urgent.
Before the end of the month, I'll also see if I can throw in a walkthrough or two on using the SampleTank interface.
I did one at the end of last year's big XpansionTank group buy, going through how to use effects to beef up sounds in SampleARP solo and demonstrating the difference between two types of chorus effects.
We probably have a lot of new users, so a few tutorials might be a good idea just to help everyone get familiar with the SampleTank interface.
Hey, good call - I hadn't noticed those before. I just picked up the Sonik Synth ones and may get the others too. I used your name (DavyAch) for the epointz but I'm not sure if that's the right name for you over there - if not, let me know and I'll send a note to Allen to fix it (I'm sure he hardly has anything to do today! 8) - hey torgo, there's your emoticon!
I have been clicking refresh like never before. :lol:
But now i know that they do it manually so then i just have to be more patient :)
Thanks for replying :tu:
