But does he have other names he goes by? I know of a few writers who seemed to have gone under a raft of different names at one time or another as well.

Rhythmmaster I love how you have passionately dedicated your whole online existence to me. Its been just over a year now since I've become your obsession, and i must say, its been a pleasure being cyberstalked by you. Keep up the good work.

Compyfox.. the SSL we modeled was a late 80's SSL G+. The 90's introduced the J, then later the K, then the duality in the 2000's.

Yes the one coming out is modeled after an RCA Broadcast console that I just recently broke. Luckily we were able to work with before that happened.

Now this is a bit strange, since I went by the SSL history page. Here the G+ is listed for 2000, no G date, and only the E for the 80ies. There was a 8k G series in the 90ies though (and parallel a G for the 4k range as well IIRC from another page). I trust your words in this case, you had access to the desk, therefore you also knew the build date.

To my experience, the J and K are 9k series, right?

I'm waiting for this one since the announcement of VCC. The "Nashville" sound (gimme some guitar! *cough*), though I'd presonally prefer the "cross-walk" sound as you know from an old mail of mine (or some 60ies German vibe).

Which one of the BC's is it actually? BC1 (nah, too old - 40ies if I got that right), or rather the BC3 (was more like a preamp), or more towards the BC7 / BC8 consoles?

I was holding it to move it from one rack to another and then tripped on something.. I fell forward and used the tube console (its a large rackmount piece) to catch my fall. Good news, I was unharmed. Bad news, console hasn't worked since.

Rhythmmaster you cute little annoying kid you.. not that it matters to this thread or whether or not the VCC will be a good plugin for you..., but since mixing and mastering George Lynch's album in the winter, I've mastered tracks for the band Revis, mixed and mastered two singles for a hot new band called Delta Rose, currently mixing a wonderful Swiss band called The Hundred Days, wrote and produced about two albums worth of pop songs with various writers like Griffon Boice, mastered at least five or six albums for various other bands (it'll be on allmusic soon sorry I can't name them all), and all the while, I've run an audio company and as you have already concluded, plotted to manipulate people's brains via DSP so I can soon rule the world.

Since 2005 I've worked very hard on my audio companies, but I've made a commitment this year to take more time to make music, so look for more to come soon lil buddy.

Here's a really great up and coming Nashville artist Ashlee Williss.. I wrote (with her), produced, mixed, and mastered her song The Bottom.. here is a video of it, I really love her voice:

So you've stalked me for over a year now anonymously, how about surprising me and posting some music you've actually worked on in between bashing me on the internet. It would honestly be a pleasure to hear some art you've created.. I bet there is some talent in that brain of yours. If you are half as passionate about actually making music as you are about prancing around the internet slamming me, then I can't wait to add your stuff to my ipod.

I kind of ad a feeling that that was did it...you might have pulled a connection out from within the desk..if memory serves me correctly those things were not the most well soldered connections going ...

Compyfox, the SSL 4000 G replaced the E in the mid eighties, and the + had the updated computer and came out in the late eighties and had copper free wire. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong because I may not know what the hell I'm talking about. I have a copy of the schematic of the desk we modeled and it actually says 4000G with no "+" so maybe I'm just going crazy here anyway.

The RCA console was a 6B, and it was modded all to hell since a lot of components apparently didn't match the schematic. But it sounded KILLER as you'll soon hear. It had a custom built external PS made for it too. At some point my tech will fix it.

Could you please increase the input gain range to, let's say, +/-12dB (or +/-24dB like Compyfox suggested)?

Aparently, I wrote these FR's several times in my tickets, Steven.

(actually, to you and Fabrice as well), mainly the VU correction, the larger gain/trim values, and one or another extra thing. Looks like it got a bit lost in translation.

No need to adjust yourself regarding the consoles either, Steven. At least you're not uber-secretive. Still, late 60ies console (Symbol), mid 70ies (US A), late 70ies (Brit N), late 80ies (Brit 4k), then the RCA (I suggest very early 60ies, found a spareparts book in PDF form that dates back to 1964, and here the BC-8 is already listed, so I expect more like 62). Surprising, but interesting.

I hope one of my elder console FR's will take fruit someday to see some more "modern" consoles as well.

I can contact you directly again if you like. Still kind of wait for an answer regarding my last FR (new ideas, etc).
