Irig and amplitube

Just questioning any users of this gear about the stability of features.
I have an irig and amplitube (twenty dollar purchase) and have been experiencing some bugs with it and wanted to know who else had these problems.
My first bug is crackles and pops. I get these crackles and pops on the Low latency setting and especially on the ultra low latency setting. They show up about 3-5 minutes after using the app and then continue about every three minutes or so. This makes the app unusable for the small gigs/open mics for which I bought the app. So are you getting crackles on your rig? Is this caused by a buffer underrun or something else?
My second bug is within the pedal chain. Often the "on" graphics for the pedals don't light at all. The bypass button of course will change but I've noticed that if I get a pedal that doesn't light and turn it on and off, then change to another pedal and then go back to the original efx. The bypass button will often be switched. In other words, it says the unit is bypassed but the effect will be working or vice versa it will say that it is working and the unit wont be.
I am on a 2nd gen ipod touch, and I believe the ios is all up to date. So anyone have these problems? I've sent a support ticket to IK but I'd thought I would post here about it as google didn't return any results about these bugs and right now, I'm guessing I'm the only user in history with these problems. But seriously though anyone got these buggies?

That is weird indeed. Your using the oldest iPod that we allow to work with Amplitude. Are there any other apps running in the background?japut_99 wrote:Just questioning any users of this gear about the stability of features.

No the only app is amplitube. I'm not even sure ipods allow running two apps at the same time but anyway thats not the case. Your support team asked for me to try running the ipod in airplane mode which of course ends in-app purchases. I haven't got to try it yet today but will have an answer about that early this morning when I get off work. Even with just a clean amp and cab it gargles the audio.
I still have no answer to the the efx behaviour though. The answer from support never even addressed it either. I have to admit I'm feeling pretty special as I have the only ipod to ever exhibit these bugs.

yes so I'm going to disable wifi from now on I guess. Its actually a good thing as I won't be arsed to spend any more money with the in-app purchases. lols.
Btw the effects still dont show correctly, but I haven't had it say it was bypassed and the effect was still working etc...

Sure that would work if I were into waiting but I like microwaves and the speed of light.
Amplitube has convinced me that $20 apps have no place in my world.
I picked up a vox mini last night at work because the 'gadget' factor of my irig has run its course. It doesn't fit into my pocket or check my email but it sounds a hundred times more convincing than my irig and doesn't require a boot sequence or much fiddling with. Plus the mini runs on batteries; even has a shoulder strap.

You also could have used that to update to a new iPod with more processing power.japut_99 wrote:Sure that would work if I were into waiting but I like microwaves and the speed of light.Amplitube has convinced me that $20 apps have no place in my world.

So I'm still guessing there is no one out there with GUI bugs. Lights on, lights off in effects etc...that kind of stuff. I hadn't received anything about this from support, so I'm guessing I still have the only 2nd gen ipod that does this?

So far this is the first case I've heard of those things happening.japut_99 wrote:So I'm still guessing there is no one out there with GUI bugs. Hi I am experiencing the same problem that you described about the iRig mic playing up after a few minutes of use.
It works great on the second (middle) Switch setting. and just a few minutes later i cannot hear a thing that is my voice and i keep hearing pops and sounds. I changed the headset i was using & also plugged in into another music system and the same problem.
I don't know if I should send it back to where I got it from for an exchange ? I am unsure if it is an APP problem or the Mic problem !

Where did you get the mic from? And have you tried the mic in any other recording apps? Like iRig Recorder? Does it make the same noises in other apps?cyrusd wrote:Hi I am experiencing the same problem that you described about the iRig mic playing up after a few minutes of use.
