(i really dont know if i already made this thread and got to another section or something, let me know, i think i closed the browser before i posted it lol also i cant find where do i look the threads that i started)

Well, i have this arpeggio. 96bpm, goes 6 octaves up then starts again. Image

PS: If someone cant see the pic, it goes E two beats, D two beats A two beats and F# two beats.

How i can harmonize it? Tried a bunch of chords but i didnt like them. I wich scale? Would you change something of the arpeggio and then harmonize it?

Thanks in advance.

This might help you, just put your notes into this and it will give you a list of possible scales, from there you can see which chords will work and what notes they contain: http://www.scales-chords.com/scalefinder.php

There's a number of ways you could go with that really.

It will depend on what key the song is in and what chords are playing when the arp is going but theres no absolute formula for harmonies.
The notes in your pic could be in a number of keys. Dmaj & Emin are 2 of them so you could try using the other notes in those scales.

If you want a single chord that fits all the notes it is a D9 (D, F#, A, E). If you want a chord progression for each note then the possibilities are many.

Please note that arpegios are notes of a chord that are not sounding at the same time but one after the other one. You dont harmonize an arpegio, you harmonize a melody.
How you harmonize depends on the scale, the motive and phrases, the mood that you want to achive, etc.

Sorry people. Didnt know that it would be so confusing. Here, have a listen:

I used some chords in A Major but it sounded too happy (have a listen with the chords if you want: http://www.4shared.com/audio/luoFYj8t/A ... hords.html), does anyone knows a "minor solution" that doesnt sounds awkard? I think i used E minor but i ended up with some diminished chords that didnt followed the arpeggio.

I only want to keep the mood of the arpeggio. Tried some chords but none followed the mood that the arpeggio already has. I imagine as a saw pad, or some synth string, marking the movement of the arpeggio. But i ended with some awkward sounding chords that didnt follow the arpeggio.

Maybe with two chords is enough. What do you suggest?

FYI, im trying to do something with this mood

Yeah, i thought bout that, if it goes all around the scale shouldnt be harmonized, but even an arpeggio of octaves? It just touches octaves, not entire chords (thirds, fifths, etc). Or do you suggest that i dont make any chord and just keep hitting single notes with other instruments?

I listened to your example with chords and they are E, D, A, F#m. You could try Em, D, Am, Bm. Or, E, Bm, A, F#m
