OK it' 2.5(low) and 1.5(high) at 12th now, from fret top to bottom of the string.

Yep H., it came from US to Aus.
The neck was straight when I got it, but it would buzz on like the 1st fret. So I gave it some relief.
The truss rod is still nice and free.
I'll bear that it in mind Mike, hmm. I was thinking of tightening the nut to straighten the neck now, if I am going to do anything.

It sounds good, but to tell you the truth, I mightn't have the best ear for tone.

A Les Paul doesn't necessarily sound perfect in every scenario or with every amp. The thing I like most about your guitar is you can switch out the pickups. If I were you, I'd probably keep a humbucker in the bridge and a P-90 in the neck, given that I personally think that balances out better.

As stated I had a 57 goldtop with P-90's They cut out and still are very single coil sounding. A modern p90 such as p-rails would be the order of the day. However know this. The LP sound is inescapable. One doesn't buy a paul because it sounds like any other guitar. One buys an LP because it is an LP. The sound comes first from your fingers and/or pick the rest is window dressing.

ironically for almost 15 years at my old apartment I always used a big black blanket tight to my window in the bedrom instead of nice, fancy curtains

Maverick F4, HSS with stock wilkinson strat-like trem. Perfectly fine pickups already in there but could be swapped out to personal taste easily. Got one over here in england for £225 as they stopped the brand, Got an F1 whilst i was at it for £275 with Wilkinson's take on the floyd which is killer also (guess which one i use most

). Neck is just right between comfortable flat but not too thin/uber-shred like. Maple with rosewood board, Its light and if you see one on ebay should be able to be had for maybe $300 - $400 or less. Obviously YMMV but i have lent my F1 to a good friend and i am as he assures me going to have some trouble prizing it out of his cold dead hands as its just right for him. Personally i would steer clear of them bigsby things as they are IMHO more for looks than functionality and super inferior to a regular strat-type job and Trev's h/d ware is solid
