Yes since the rule update about sampling is already written without freeware sampler specified and we're well into the month, that can't be changed now so any sampler goes. (But from next comp that will be changed)
As for sampler ADSR, that's a no because you would get a different result than what the synth can do. It would be approximate, but it should be EXACTLY. Sampling is about saving CPU only, not to get creative.
Normal freeware effects after the sampler is of course allowed as it always was with the synth.
thanks for your reply. Currently I'm not sure anymore if I'm going to use a Sampler and there are more than 10 days to go. Think I'll wait until the end of the month till I finish upload my track.
Nice Tracks by now. Can't wait to see what the ohter contributers of this competition will get out of this Synth.

Cheers for the submission Stonail, nice first post
Only thing you missed was that name format should be Artist - Track Title but not a huge deal, everything else seems spot on. Nice to know if people used samplers or bounced so hope to see others include it in the write-up.

OSC 0511 Tyrell
Gorgorgathgorgorgor - Night of the Nanozombiez
During the Third World War, wartime scientists enhanced soldiers' bodies with nanotechnology. They injected the soldiers with millions of nanobots, making them stronger, faster and more resistant to pain. As the war rages, strange things begin to happen, casualties of war begin to rise again, re-animated by their nanobots. At first they move about without direction, almost comically stumbling about. Soon these pathetic creatures begin to group together, and before the living realize what is happening, the dead soldiers turn on their former comrades and attack! Now air raid sirens are used to warn of incoming waves of a new enemy, the Nanozombiez!
nine instances of Tyrell in Reaper.

Hi there KVR folks, I just want to know what means 'freezing'.
There are some english words i don't understand yet in musical terms.
I need a new computer too...
Tyrell sounds good, and lot of parameters to tweak, but my old Pentium 4 Single core at 2,60 Ghz can't with it, hehe. If i set 'voice stack' at 2 or 3, my CPU reach easily >90%. Or 4 Tyrell synths with 1 voice stack in polyphonic mode, reach the same peaks.
I'm making a lot of dumped channels into wave files too, but, the most paradoxical thing is, in the last moment, i won't need those dumped channels, because when you render the whole song in real time, you don't need them really. Just active the synths and render the song (because now you know how will sound your whole track)
I could even delete the dumped channels.
So i'm making the double effort, but it's necessary to structuring and making the song step by step, hehe.
Activating channels or FX, deactivating them, bouncing into wave loops, listening this with this, listening that with that other, loading waveloops, re-activating FX again. Some problems on the rendered waves like 'clics' here, 'pops' there, rendering again. Also i had a mistake with delay effect. Yesterday i had a headache. But it was another good experience and i learned a lot.
Anyway, the track i made with Tyrell was, at beginning, another project i was making with other free synths, i just took some scores and ideas from it, and doesn't sounds like the original, the original sound better IMO.
When i finish this Tyrell project i will change all the synths and render it in a new track with those original free synths and upload the song to my webpage. Iwill upload both, anyway.
I hope next OSC will be with a low or average CPU synth so we could make the whole song in real time. I have some ideas. I have passed this winter trying free synths, so i know what they do and how many CPU consumes.
Also, I encourage the contesters to give some ideas for next OSC synth when upload their entries.
My song will be ready tomorrow or past tomorrow, i think.
I just need to finish some FX sounds and mastering the track.
@Gorgor:
Dude, your song is in wave file, i don't know if this is allowed or not, i just wanted to tell you if you didn't notice that. Cheers.
I'm going to listen the new entries.
Cheers and good luck everybody.

Freezing is a term first introduced by Steinberg in Cubase (I don't recall which version).
It is basically the same as dumping the synth track to audio except that the host does it for you and the whole process is pretty transparent to the user. You just select a track to freeze and the host creates an audio file and bypasses the synth while keeping the audio level, send and insert FX.
BTW how much time does it usually take for one's uploaded track to be visible on Soundcloud?
I uploaded mine 2 hours ago, but I still can't see it. I don't know if something went wrong, though I didn't get any error messages.

btw.,
freeze is reversible, unlike bouncing down.
So you can un-freeze your track if you want to mod it.

Thanks, I missed that. (no wonder it took so long!) I picked the wrong file! I'll fix it tonight when I get home, doesn't hurt to leave it up till then, sounds the same through sound cloud anyway.IrionDaRonin wrote: @Gorgor:

@Branis: Did you get a mail with a confirmation link from soundcloud?
Normally it only takes a few minutes and the track is online.

No, I got no mail from SoundCloud. I had an account previously and was logged in when I uploaded the track. Should I've gotten the mail anyway?
BTW, your track is great!!

Thank you very much!
I wasn't logged in to my SoundCloud account when I uploaded the track. Just used the upload link in the first post of this thread where it says: "Upload to SoundCloud only". Then I got a mail from SoundCloud: "Please confirm your sent track". After clicking the link in that mail my track showed up.
I think you can link your track from your SoundCloud account by joining the "KVR One Synth Challenge" group, but I'm not really sure about that.

It shouldn't take that long for songs to appear in the SoundCloud player so something must've gone wrong. Try uploading (or share with group) again: http://soundcloud.com/groups/kvr-one-sy ... -1/dropbox
@Irion: Yea P4 and Tyrell is a recipe for hard work, but good to stick with it. Huge contrast from the light Free Alpha last OSC that's for sure..
