Some times I think we're lucky that some people are shy and hesitate to enter the contest (while we're a harmless bunch, except Scoops when he's asleep
).
A good example of this is Mary Mary Dylan ! If this ain't quality then you might as well say I make church music.
Chapeau !!!

Hey folks, I've been at KVR for a while, but I've not yet entered a contest.
Get ready for some more fresh meat!
Question though: I had a song "In the works" when I found out about this contest.... can that song be rededicated towards this effort? or would that be against the rules?

Actually, The rules state that this practice is generally frowned upon. We have no way of telling if a contestant made a fresh comp, or refreshed an older one.iiiDaNiii wrote:Hey folks, I've been at KVR for a while, but I've not yet entered a contest.

We ask that all contestants be "honest" with their submissions.
Thanks

And besides, what's the point of an entry that isn't specifically made for the competition? Where is the fun? It's not a lottery where you pick a number and hope for a prize, it's supposed to help build community, be a personal challenge and a bit of fun. Unless I'm mistaken and it really is all about winning, in which case I should find something else to do.Scoops wrote:Actually, The rules state that this practice is generally frowned upon. It's not a black and white matter. As I understood, he means to finish a song in the works, not recycle an already finished song, and that happens quite a lot around here. If a song in the making fits the theme (which is "free for all"), you haven't shown it to anybody yet, you can use it as an entry. IMO.

ohmdsp, from the series of posts in the submissions thread I got the impression that your (second) entry is a recycled already-finished song ("ah, that one's too long, I'll just enter this one instead"). Is that right?
I'm with skipscada on the whys of the contest.

yeah, there's nothing like being at the 11th hour and scrapping the tune you've been working on and starting another.D.H. Miltz wrote: I'm with skipscada on the whys of the contest.
