Nice Track, Branis. Like the groove. Partially reminds me of the good EyeQ times (e.g. Sven Väth).
Just downloaded all the tracks. I hate what SoundCloud does to the sound quality!

I especially hate what SoundCloud's transcoding has done to my track!!

Thanks
Well yeah, SoundCloud does ruin the sound, but what can you do. I guess they have to think about storage space.

Anyway, there is a little trick.
Encode the song by yourself into 128 kbps, Stereo, 16 bits, in 'slow mode' render
There is some Daws and wave editors that let you make this with an option, when you export the track.
Quick render (less quality) =Less weight in kbs and less time to render.
Slow render (more quality) =More weight in kbs and more time to render.
This makes SoundCloud not to re-encode again the whole track, not bit-rate down, not change the kHz or colouring the track. I made it the last time and worked for me.
Yeah, i downloaded my own track in the last OSC to listen what SoundCloud made with it. The first attemp was a total quality lost. The second, worked for me.
Anyway, we always encourage voters and contesters to download the original song. Problem solved from the root
I already heard some tracks and there are awesome ideas. Cheers.

Thanks for that trick! Sounds rather logic to me. I will try this next time I upload a track.
Btw. I avoid encoded audio (mp3, ogg ...) as much as I can. Even at highest bitrates it sounds odd to me. Especially with very percussive sounds or hihats/cymbals.

Ok, here we go for this month...
Doc Jon - Freak Me Out
A machine's descent into madness, inspired by my PC complaining at having to run more than 10 instances of this excellent synth!
Host - Cubase 6
14 instances of Tyrell
Some automation of volume, panning and mod wheel settings
Host EQ
Kjaerhus reverb, delay, compressor, limiter
Machine started to max out after about 10 tracks
5 percussion tracks bounced to single audio track with no further processing
3 further instrument tracks also bounced to audio files with no further processing
Hope you like it
(I must say Soundcloud has been frustrating this month! Seems even more trouble than usual despite trying different settings so apologies for the slightly 'clippy' mix it gives you)

From SoundCloud FAQ:
Does SoundCloud apply bit-rate compression when I upload tracks?
In order for users to hear music rapidly on the SoundCloud platform, we re-encode every track to high quality 128 kbps MP3s
I saw somewhere else that Soundcloud recommends uploading in 320kbps 44.1kHz with at least -3db of headroom.
So basically it seems SC will re-encode absolutely everything, and the biggest factor for artifacts is probably the headroom.
But like Irion says, a well made 128 will probably yield as good results as 320 during SC transcoding.
Again, one should really download songs for best listening.

Hm, that's a shame but one can always go to the SoundCloud OSC group page:

Here's my entry:
evo2slo - biomechanical god
Host: Cubase 6
Plugs: SonEQ, Molot, TimeVerb, LoudMax
Tracks: 12 instances Tyrell
256kbps mp3 for download
So much track freezing I should've titled the song Frostbite! Really enjoyed spending time with Tyrell N6. What a fun and awesome synth. Many thanks to Urs for giving it away. I think it's a match made in heaven with Uhbik - but rules are rules after all. Good luck everybody!
