MixControl Pro has 2 separate professionally designed interface layouts, created by Anders Hedstrom (aka LimeFlavour) to allow users of different screen sizes and workflows to benefit from. *Replacing* MixControl? I consider MixControl to be the best-of-breed channel strip available. Why would it need to be replaced?

Because the original needs too many major things done in order to make it a serious contender in this market. The interface, lack of a few necessary features and the user workflow are three of the most major considerations.

You know what i think is wrong with mixcontrol? It's the UI and some metering ability, such as spectrum analyzer. The rest is great for me. I hope you won't change the main program of it actually.

The UI is be a major "workflow" stumbling block for a lot of people, yes, and it will be considered at length prior to any release of the replacement version.

Well, it would still be a mixing channelstrip, but it would be quite a bit more refined.

Most companies who do deals at all essentially "screwing customers" who purchase any goods at full price. I think that by giving customer free updates to what will amount to quite a bit of work is a good deal for everybody. Also, after reviewing the sales records for this software project, it also appears to me that nearly everyone using it has been given the software through giveaways and such as it is, so I don't think we're screwing anyone, though I'm sorry you feel that way.

I think it's great that you guys are doing this! Mixcontrol IS a great plugin indeed, but as you mentioned..it needs a few corrections (workflow wise) like "where" things are (the layout). Not that it's not "ok" but not "easy" and fast enough.

Of course the GUI could give the new one a 250% "coolness" boost and thus more attention/success/reputation etc.

Mixcontrol sounds great and the new one will too, with just a more "clever" GUI!
(Just make sure that it's backwards compatible...if possible)

Oh ok. I look forward to the new products you have coming out. However, Maybe I'll simply wait a year on DNR VST products, because now I know there is a chance they will be given away much cheaper than even the reduced price to anyone and everyone.

I'm going to go ahead and stop you right there, as I can see what you're trying to do. This company was about to go under because of the generosity that had been provided and we are not going to let that occur. In order to turn this company around, we have a specific layout that we are prepared to follow through with, including investing a lot of time and money into the development of a project that we believe to be of the highest quality. If you would like to make presumptions about our intentions, you are welcome to do that. Do not, however, expect the type of unwarranted kindness that was given away while Reason was in charge.

Maybe we can see a show of hands to those who have actually purchased MixControl in the past 6 months? Or even the past year. We're businessmen, and we're looking to build the company up, not just let it sit here and gather dust, as it was about to do. Would you prefer us to let the company go down? It seems to me that you would, which is a shame after how much time, energy and dedication Reason spent trying to do good for others. Please refrain from turning our post into a mud slinging contest.

Proves your point though. Personally I wish you all the best with this, Mixcontrol certainly deserves a v2 for the reasons mentioned, would be sad to see it disappear completely.
