Thank you very much! Never thought we'd have an update for this amazing plugin. I also still uses it and I think it's still one of the best 303 emulations to date.

Oh even I don't think its the best. Strictly speaking, it isn't even a 303 emulation - that job is done by Tau MkII.

However, now having said that I'm *very* wary that this might turn into one of "those" 303 emulation threads. Please let it not go there

Still a satisfied user of Tau Pro, which I assume eclipses this little freebie in terms of sound and functionality, but I signed up anyway, because I love these limited synths for bringing out creativity. I'll be interesting to compare the sound of them both.

lol! Well, let's change the "303 emulation" part for "acid" since they're not synonyms. Right?!

But I have a question:

I always loved and used Muon Tau but there's something that annoys me a little: Even if I turn the decay knob to 0 it still produces a tone so it avoids me to have "stabs like" hits. Is it intentional? Because I think it would be interesting to have some kind of envelope control, even if it misses attack, release or so.

I've noted this kind of behaviour in some 303 emulation plugins.

I think the hardware TB303 does that so I assume that's why the emulations and acid synths do it. 10 years is quite an achievement, congrats!

To be honest I think you miss the point a little. It's obviously very generous what you are doing, and you obviously can do it however you like, but a significant amount of people will stay away to avoid facebook. While if we were asked to sign up at say your website for example, most would have no issue, and as a result, more people are exposed to your stuff.
And your point ignores the elephant in the room, and I will accept no insinuations of wrong doing for this point (I have spent more money on both hardware and software than most could imagine over the last 25 years), but many people who don't sign up to Facebook will still end up getting it, and never get exposed to your site.

I for one would never sign up at any website with my data to get any freebie, be it a plugin or samples.
The decision where to post a freebie to get something in return (in this case likes, so the likers get the advertising regularly), can never be 100% right.
Whatever Muon does, somebody will complain because he doesn't use this or that website or network.
I even know numerous musicians who don't visit KVR, believe it or not

I am more than happy with the FB solution. Muon don't have my data, I can just block their advertising easily If I want to and I get a freebie. that's really fine.

My sentiments exactly. If you don't use Facebook, then I'm sorry but you can't have the plugin. I'm not here to give a free plugin to everyone, only the ones who are prepared to jump through the minimal barrier to entry that we've placed there.

I wouldn't say that was an elephant in the room - its a given in fact. I've been around for long enough to know how these things go and not to care too much. I only get annoyed at muppets who blog rapidshare links to cracks of our commercial software

I actually agree that they should be able to do as they please.
But I think people would be better exposes to their products at their website, and the dislike of Facebook is for genuine reasons. Facebook has become a negative force in society, especially with regard to children. To come out and label people on an open forum (not even their site forum) as 'whiners' or whiners etc, some of whom like me are actually paying customers is foolish.

I bared Facebook in my house after seeing how much was caused with a group of kids around my brothers daughters. Also encouraging them to rate their friends, exposing their personal info to virtually anyone if they didn't actively keep on top of their settings etc etc etc.

To see a potential trend for companies to get in bed with this force while 'trying to block out people who wish to keep away from it is concerning. But I already have countless bass specific instruments not to mention all the other non specific one tray also do it well, so I don't personally care. But someone could have played with it, liked it and gone though their other paid products, ir gone to their site and seen some stuff. Plus as someone else mentioned, many people are blocked around the world and the can't reach them all argument given was a bit silly.

I disagree. Like any technology since the dawn of time some people will use it wisely, some will not and some will downright abuse it.

However you are completely right to keep your children away from it, it is a service for adults.

No one in this forum called you names for doing it that way, no one got aggravated at you. But the same cant be said for you. I'm not saying you had to blow pretty little butterfly kisses up anyone who said such things butts, but throwing terms like 'moaners' at people who are concerned about personal privacy on facebook and then saying "you will not get obsequiece deference from me" when that is pointed out like you don't care what people think your brand while simultaneously trying to get people to 'like' you on facebook is actually pretty funny. Well, i might not get the plug off you, but at least i got a giggle.

Actually the Facebook thing goes beyond promoting a brand. Promoting brands is done through adverts, a top-down model where the consumer is fed messages of what the company/product is "supposed" to be about. That is how come McDonalds and Cocoa-Cola can get away with sponsoring the Olympic Games. They promote a healthy sporty image for sugar water and greasy burgers.

Here on KVR (and on blogs/Facebook/twitter etc) you are coming into 1:1 contact with the people that run these companies and physically make the products. I'm not a brand, I'm a person - and a slightly grumpy middle-aged one at that.

Ahh well, facebook is a social networking website. So my guess is you want to socially "network" with all people who are there to catch the freebie. Actively be in touch with your customers. That must be the idea, right?

I mean, what would be the purpose for people to create a blank account there, then "like" that page, and then leave there to never to return?

You'll only get an extra "like". But what does it count for?
