Hey guys,

I'm just about to launch a new website that I thought you might be interested in...

It's called iDesignSound and it's a site dedicated to helping musicians and sound designers discover the very best audio and music production apps for their iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

http://www.idesignsound.com

It's official launch isn't until next week but I thought it might be a good idea to sneak it out at KVR first, and let you guys take a surf around to see what you think ;)

I hope you like it. I've worked quite hard to get it to where it is right now and I hope it will become a useful resource. Let me know what you think. You can post here or in our own forums.

I have integrated comments/review sections into each apps page, with a star rating system. You don't need to be a member to leave a comment, ask a question, rate an app or write a review. You can just type away and hit submit no membership necessary

The comments are there so you can quickly let everyone know which apps you love/hate, what features you'd like to see added, ask people questions before you buy an app etc.

Enjoy!

Alex :)

ps. there's a little info about me in the forums, if you're wondering 'who the heck is this guy??'

Hi Alex,

Your site looks very well done. Do you plan to add music-making hardware and/or accessories for mobile devices to your site or are you just staying focused on apps?

Hi Gribs,

Glad you like the site 8)

The Hardware section is up (clickable from the main navigation menu), but not yet fully populated. It includes videos for each item and links to compatible apps.

We have lots of info for that section to add before the official launch next week. If you are using some hardware (or apps) that we haven't listed yet then please PM me here or post in our forums and we'll get it added.

Would you like to see a hardware feed added to the front page so you can easily see when things have been added?

I am more a "visit and explore" sort of person, but others might chime in. I have you bookmarked :)

Cool site! Looks nice and I like the star/review feature. How are you going to classify apps that have sequencing built in like AmpliTube or VocaLive? What about loop based apps like GrooveMaker?

Hi,

Glad you like it :)

Following your comments I've expanded the categories a little and apps can be added to more than one category...

VocaLive is now in Vocals, Effects, and MultiTrack.
AmpliTube is now in Guitar, Effects, and MultiTrack.

I have also added a Loops / Remix category and added the GrooveMaker apps, which look great by the way!

Thanks again for the input,

Alex

No, thank you for the site! I can definitely see this catching on much like Recording Hacks did for mics. Good job!
