We're pleased to announce the re-release of our CoreBass Pear upright bass sample library. We've updated CoreBass Pear to KONTAKT 4 with an entirely new script and interface, employing the very latest features in KONTAKT 4. We've completely optimized the library for CPU efficiency, improved the playability, as well as adding a bunch of new features.

If you already own the previous version of CoreBass Pear, we're sending you the KONTAKT 4 version free of charge. If you haven't received an email with your update download link already, please email us.

For those who don't already own this library, we're putting it on a $15 USD OFF re-introductory discount until the end of June. For more information, visit the product page here: CoreBass Pear upright bass sample library for KONTAKT

Hi Greg, thanks for the download link and of course for doing so much work for us.

Do I need to keep the old files or is this the kaboodle? (very full SSD)
EDIT: found out I don't need the old files :) Plays nicely :D

I need to get me some of that industrial strength stuff... let's just say I didn't drink coffee before I started the Steel Strings project.

I was wondering the same thing (If I needed the old Pear Bass Folder). I forgot about the Kontakt 4 compression thing! It plays great! Thanks for all your amazing work Greg. :) -Perry-

quick question how would i go installing this in kontakt, also loading it to. sorry but i could not find any info in the download.

Just extract the zip file anywhere on your hard drive (you'll probably want to put it alongside your other sample libraries for the sake of organization). Then, in Kontakt 4, click the "Files" icon at the top (it's a disk icon), and then click "Load..." in the dropdown menu. Navigate to the CoreBass Pear folder, then the "Instruments" subfolder. From there you should see the various presets, and be able to load them.

Hey Greg,

thanks for the update.
The new GUI looks wonderful and the colour/string relation on the keyboard is helpful too.
Though I really miss a lot of parameters that we had in the old Corebass Pear.
Seems like the whole remapping section is gone(?).
Then, where's stuff like harmonics and vibrato?
And where's the mixing section? I don't miss the reverb or compressor that much but the mic mixer with panning etc. imho was quite useful.

I already read the manual but if I didn't overlook anything it doesn't answer my questions.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Doc

Sounds awesome Greg. You must have done something to the scripting because it sounds more controlled. I swapped the old pear for the new version in a project and it sounds like the player has been practicing the part

Nice interface too! 8)

Awesomeness !! :D

thanks for this update Greg !!!
the CPU usage is great & CoreBass Pear sounds, feels & looks great :)
& the new controls are much welcome but I agree with Dr.Gunjah,
especially regarding the mixing section,
(the harmonics are on the very lowest notes, Dr.)
I miss the mic mixer & the panning controls ...

it'd be really great to have those controls back, please :)

I figured that KONTAKT's backend interface was much more powerful for changing the volumes, panning, and effects on the mic/DI signals. You'll find that there's a single group for each, making it really convenient to control them individually.

Believe me, the joys of a proper espresso machine with real coffee are perhaps the third best feeling after "making sweet love" and having a great new song idea :)
(smokers and and other drug addicts may disagree... then again, caffeine is addictive isn't it?)

EDIT: DAMN YOU GREG!!! Now I crave my black brew  ... off to la machina, sbrigarsi!

Hey Greg,

thanks for the hint, I found the stuff in the group editor.

What about the remapping?
Is there a(n easy) "Kontakt Way" too ?
I currently can't reach the very low notes for the keyswitches and such.
I tried to transpose midi at the instrument options but it doesn't work; the "blue" and "red" notes are broken hereafter :(

Cheers,
Doc

oooh ...

I had looked under the hood but I hadn't isolated the group editor :dog:

it makes perfect sense now :D

thanks Greg :tu:

Regarding remapping, it's all in the scripting. If you need the effects rearranged, let me know. I could probably add in some controls (at least backend script controls) to let you change where the effects are.

I'm assuming the Corebass - Pear (DFD) and Corebass - Pear (RAM) patches didn't get updated, and we should now use the individual preset patches in the Instruments folder? I can't seem to load those- I just get "The patch could not be loaded (unknown error). I tried in both Sonar and Cantabile.
