"albums"
Ahh...was completely overthinking this one.

Capital cities:

Lou Reed - Berlin
Ultravox - Vienna
John Cale - Paris 1919
Vic Chesnutt - West of Rome

Just in case anyone was wondering, it's just a variation on the disguised album cover theme, and the link's an animal. Besides, I've just realised I should have used columns rather than rows if I wanted to make them look like DNA profiles. :dog:

Ah well...

Are they the barcodes on the back of the original albums? :hihi:

#1 jumps out at me now, and from that #6 is quite obvious now. Can't believe I didn't get #6a first time around. :)

haven't the foggiest about the others though...

I think number 3 might throw a few people...and number 2 is slightly obscure for non-Brits; particularly as they used a different name in the US. :hihi:

[Edit] Actually that won't make a great deal of difference at this stage...

Ok, I can see #2 and #3 now... Hopefully #2 won't be too obscure, they didn't change their name *that* much ;)

OK, so a couple of them must be obvious by now...and if the rest aren't, there are some extra clues to help out. :tu:

I suspect that moving on to the next level will give them all away, so instead, here's some dates:

1. 1974
2. 1994
3. 1993
4. 1985
5. 1969
6. 1992

I was sure someone would have posted them so I didn't.

1. Diamond Dogs
2. Dog Man Star
3. Doggy Style
4. Rain Dogs
5. A Salty Dog
6. Reservoir Dogs

Would dogs be the connection by any chance?

Actually, the answer was that they all feature someone playing the Katzenklavier, but by a remarkable coincidence... :hihi:

I thought Gary might get there before you, but I suspect he may have question-setting fatigue (as have I... :help:)

[Edit] Oh, and...all correct! Over to you...

OK, another one of those 'fill in the blank' questions then. Each dot represents a band in the chain. Tell me how I get from beginning to end:

Roxy Music

Godflesh

I'll add a band now and then to give you a clue.
