Main reason you have to have a seperate editor installed on your computer to edit the interface (well last time i tried it did) but midi touch is all done on the ipad, and simply too. Also i couldnt get Osc to work, probably because im a muppet and need things simple.

ETA DSmidiWIFI and loopbe1, piss easy and just work well.

I d/l'ed TouchOSC months ago and I believe it was free then, but it's $5 now. As leggie mentioned, the version I have is a PITA the edit compared to MIDI Touch and it was very flakey over WiFi for me. Looking at the current version, it does look more comparable to MIDI Touch now.

Regarding free vs $5 vs $20, I don't see it as being much different. Sure, free or dirt cheap is nice, but when I consider that, for the price of one good beer or a cheap bottle of wine, I'm getting an app that does what I want better than most of the $300+ MIDI controllers that I've owned, then my main two concerns are usually only how hassle-free/intuitive it is to use and how configurable it is.
