Yes, that's the biggest issue for me. Having to move between the graph for frequency selection/gain and knobs for Q. Just give us Q adjustment on mousewheel when the cursor is near an EQ band on the graph.

I haven't tried FabFilter Q but most of my EQ's work this way, so I'm used to it.

FabFilter's dragging system is very intuitive IMO, but for a mixing plug-in without modulation capabilities, it won't work so well. We will include as many mouse-only features as possible to make sure users don't have to click all over the place to get things done fast :)

Eq display control points:

Controlling Q with the mouse wheel and right-clicking a point to select the filter type would be wonderful! :)

These two requests were #1 and #2 on the request list.

The indicated portions are actually user requests that have been added tentatively, but are not yet actually coded.

Could you please describe what they do just a bit, I can't really tell what's what except for the eq reset button.
The two icons on the compressor module are for loading a preset into that module only, and also for clearing the parameters current set for the specified module. The EQ reset is obvious, and the display mode option are not 100% decided yet but we will update with more information very soon.

Also, the module-specific loading capability is already included in MixControl.

A big F**k you to the dweeb at the beginning of the thread, you know who you are. DNR are extremely generous, just not enough for you ya tight assed bitch.

Sorry if I missed it somewhere, but were you guys also planning on upgrading the fft display? For me I think thats the only thing I would want is a more detailed display. Do like the new look though too

We are looking into a number of possibilities for enhancing the display. So far, we have seen requests for variable amplitude and frequency indicators, adjustable FFT block size, stereo spectrum analyser, phase analyzer, and dynamics response analyzer. If there are any other options you would like us to consider, please mention them here or in our private forum and we will add the request to the list.

The new design is getting better and better. The small (multipaged) one is lovely.

The Large one still has some unnecessary empty spaces, I though one solution could be making the compressor horizontal and the other modules vertical, in order to use that space (and maybe making it a little less tall and a bit larger, say 50 / 75 pixels). But it's not a deal breaker.

Still, I love it... with all of the requests flowing, I bet it will be PERFECT when it comes out :hihi:

EDIT: I lived with the old design for much more than one year, so take it for what it is: an effort to help you improve.

I think you would be pleasantly surprised by the sound quality. Also, you'll probably be pleasantly surprised with the newest tabbed interface model that we are looking to also provide as an option to users:

Great, can't wait :) !

Also, I don't know if this is the right time for a feature request, but being able to switch between SSL a Neve like EQ curves would make this plugin a dream come true :) (at least for me)...

We do not have any plans to attempt an emulation of any sort with MixControl. Possibly more of our own algorithms, but there are already enough companies doing sub-par emulations and we would rather focus on developing unique and technologically advanced mixing and synthesis systems.

While we are in the process of taking suggestions, should I assume that most people are more than happy with the sound quality? I've never seen a complaint, but if you have any suggestions, feedback or imput, please let us know.

hmmm....
After pretty intensive tests I found:

-that the eq is very good, I dare to say great! Pretty impressed with it and think that after the current UI and workflow improvements it will be the best module and the main attraction of this plugin.

-the compressor is pretty good but IMO needs some more work. It has some character which is nice but it's a bit ropey lacking a bit in sound quality to compete with the eq section. (tested mainly against the Nomad Liquid compressor, the liquid compressor always got extra points.)

-Don't really know what to say about the gate plugin as I don't use gates that much.. but I guess that needs work too. (compared it against Bootsy's preFIX plugin)

-Stereo tool is good... don't know what to say about it because I don't know how to effectively test this kind of processor just yet.

-The limiter: is very usefull keeping some peaks in check durring mixing so don't take that out please! :) .. yeah, this badly needs an uptade IMO!

I'm into my last day of testing the current MixControl version and to be honest, I'm considering buying the plugin mainly for the eq section.

.. But yeah, I really hope that the other processors get some sort of update, even if a little. High hopes for the compressor and the limiter modules from my side.

Cheers, good luck and looking forward to test the plugin soon! :D
