Then at least the fat kind of cheese ;-)

Seriously, it sounds wonderful!
Yep you are actually right... I was talking about the sound demos they have on the site. So I take it back. I may take the synth back (home) as well :D

FYI
I'm getting the following error when trying to
access the website (Firefox4 and Safari4):

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '=' in
/home/xilslab/www/lib/orders.php on line 917

Cheers,
Scott

Same here. Was working until a few hours ago. Maybe they are working on the site currently.

Very nice synth.. sounds wonderfully warm and has that real vintage "vibe" that all the Xils-lab synths have, all in their own right. Lovely filters and envelopes again. Will add this to my collection soon :) Though I have to confess that the XILS 3 is still my favourite

That said, the only things that I personally do not very much like with the Synthix are its GUI, which is way too grey and bland imho (little shocking to me because the XILS 3 and polyKB GUI's look so fine and are from te same designer) and the current layer locking system that I can't seem to get used to.

But judging by the sound and features, I'd say this is another winner :tu:

I also agree that the layer locking just doesn't seem to make sense. I understand it, but what I'm saying is that why would layers need to be locked? I don't see the problem with changing presets because all that someone needs to do is not save over them if they want to be able to go back to the original. So I think by default locking should be off and then have the option to turn on if one chooses.

Hi everyone,

i just received an email with the Authorization code for the eLicenser version of Synthix. Installation on my USB dongle worked without problems.

I'll download and install the full version of Synthix now. :)

After receiving and installing the eLicenser code I have installed and tested the full version of Synthix now.

Everything runs perfectly (including saving presets) but i found two crashes:

- when i deselect "use Factory" in the first tab of the preset browser
- when i close the Ableton Live project (like in the first version of the Synthix demo)

I have used Synthix v0.9.0 (from 21.6.2011) on Ableton Live 8.2.2 and Windows 7 32-bit.

Received mine too, everything seems ok, thanks ! :)

Just found a small typo on the demo download page.
I think "No authomation." should be "No automation." :)

Downloading the demo now :)

Thanks Dennis

I had very few time to make all the audios demos like 4 days for around 50mn of clips. So its really "what I could do" :)

For the typo : Omg ( and there are some other ones too :-o )

Thy are part of what we called "cosmetics changes" for the fianl 1.0 as our graphic artist is mainly available during full moons, as he is very demanded by the industry

Niels and DjAnthony :

Thanks for your kind words :)

For the Panel Mode : We thought that this mode aka Easy Mode would make life of a lot of users more easy, as its purpose is to allow people to use the Synthix as "a simple synth with a single Panel a la Synthex" and prevent them to get possibly lost in the combinations of layers/voices/playmodes/arpegiattors/sequencers mixmatch, wich is as really powerfull that it can get complex.

This said if a lot of people feel the way you feel we might reconsider it.

I think that once you have understood the trick its easy for power users to go to more complex modes, while the opposite might not be so true. But maybe I'm just wrong.

Btw where are we going to put the Xils Logo if we ever get rid of the easy mode ?

But well if people want to comment all this further please feel free to do so.

Else I just heard a very cool and quiet of music made with a Synthix by a user ( Who I shall not name because maybe he doesnt desire to make his track public ) It just confirmed what I thought : Synthix is very well fitted to produce cool tracks with a deep sense of "space" between the different instruments ( ie Ambiant, Lounge etc )

Else to Niels again : Yes I also have a kind of favorite between Xils synths, but of course I wont name it  . Its good to have favs :) But is equally cool the fact that I now know, especially after the Xilistics soundset, that I could create some unique and usefull ( at least for me and hopefully for people :) ) instruments on the three synths that I could not have created on the two others. Even "similar" instruments dont really sound the same on the Xils synths ( but this can be said of other synths too of course )

My eternal Funky Stabs for example do sound different. And the drones also are even more different. I think these are the kind of presets with wich you can easily "spot" the sonic signature of a synth.
