What bugs. I've been on it fairly solid for the last couple of days and it's very stable and works as it should. It feels like hardware to me.leggie wrote:Was this even beta tested ?
Bug ridden junk currently and the worst audio bug of all, screaming data coming out of your audio port that freaks you out and blows the speakers.
Menu system forgets what's it's supposed to be doing most of the time.

I've had this a few days - really well done. What would be cool is if they could join or connect this with iSequence (without the recording/importing etc..) Maybe incorporate it's engine into iSequence? That would be great!

how does horizon, and other 'external' synths fit into a workflow with bm2 ??Dewaine wrote:Within 39 minutes this became my favorite standard synthnon the iPad. SynthX still holds a special spot because of it's innovation as an instrument. But for usable sounds, this is the champ.
As an aside, thismsynth put the last nail in the coffin of Nanostudio for me. The big draw for me of Nanostudio was Eden. Beatmaker 2 for me is a more capable DAW then Nanostudio, but I would copy Eden sounds and paste into BM2. This synth and others in my sig, give me no reason for Nanostudio.

@ebow
Very well. All the synths have compatable copy/paste with BM2. So a beat or phrase made in one is brought in to BM2 and sequenced, effects added....etc.
The workflow is different than the host/vsti way of PC, but the more I do it the more I like it. It breaks me out of a rut I often get into. The way it forces you to work, actually make you play the synth instrument and only bring it into the sequencer when you are satisfied with the performance. That performance can be live or a basic sequenced loop made in the synth. I also end up going different directions than planed because of the "accidents" inherent in the shifting workflow. In other words I have to work harder, and I am learning that for me that is a good thing.
If you like to just drag and drop everything, then it's not for you

i understand the copy/paste thing but, unless these synths have their own record and playback engines how do you jam ideas, and get parts to fit into the projectDewaine wrote:@ebow

does horizon record, have metronome, import wavs etc ??
i don't mind a somewhat convoluted workflow, just don't understand how to incorporate standalone synths

Yes they record. After recording a sample or performance you have to option to copy it to the clipboard. Then in BM2 you paste the wav in the directory. It then can be loaded into the samplers and worked with.
Check this out, it's on an iPhone And on the original Beatmaker, but you can get the idea.....

so how do you jam along to the parts you already have recorded, in bm (or nano), with a standalone synth to work out parts and to choose sounds that fit with the tracks you already have ??
many thanks
