Thanks for that, now i remember from where i know that name.

Looks like this is the guy who did those famous factory sounds for the Synthex. Really cool.

YES PAUL WIFFEN is THE MAN !

.... who created almost all the Synthex Original Presets, Introduced the SYnthex to Stevie Wonder and Jean-Michel Jarre, or Keith Emmerson for example. Amongst many other things he did for the Synthex, or OScar etc etc etc

And now ...... you can finally guess who I MET, in a studio where there was an ORIGINAL SYNTHEX, a SYNTHIX two meters apart, and one LASER HARP CONTROLLER ?

Cool stuff. Paul seems to be really great at sound design and his Synthex presets are classics.

BTW is the Synthex installer at the website now updated with the fix for the crash when you close a project in Ableton Live? The version number is still the old one.

UPDATE:
I just downloaded and installed the installer again. The version number is the same but it's dated on yesterday. The bug with the crash mentioned above seems to be fixed now. Really nice.

Just one question/slight reservation - has preset management been improved yet for this? I still think both the other's have big problems with navigating presets

If you mean the discount for XILS users they sent a newsletter with a code to all users on Tuesday evening.
If you did not get this for some reason you could ask Xavier from Xils Lab by PM. I had to ask too because i purchased Synthix before that news letter was even out...

Hi Stephen,

Well if you could be a bit more precise : PolyKB preset management was stable with the first quick update, and for the Xils3 I know the bug has been fixed but I dont know if it has been published yet ( ie if the version on the public server fixed it )/

Then, is it the logic behind the preset browser, wich is very handy when you get used to it, or the fact that on all Xils-Lab all "sound" events are calculated in real time, so sometimes getting from a preset to the next one might take a little time : Actually it depends on both the complexity and the possible similaties between the two patches (especially true on Xils 3) or do you mean something else ? ( Like a crash who would occur especially when browsing etc )

In any case I'll make a short tutorial about the preset management in the Xils-Lab synths. I rewrote this part of the manuals for the PolyKB and Synthix, but its still much more easy to explain it on a quick video. Unfortunately this wont happen before a few weeks at least.
