To my knowledge it has never been a phone, but actually just a fancy internetbrowser. However, you can make calls by virtue of skype and related services.

If you don't believe me, then try putting an 9.5 x 7.31 inches iPad to you ear and see how "phony" that feels.

By use of copy and paste, sonoma or the intua system you can transfer mixdowns with no need of external computers. it is not implemented on all apps, though. Be sure they have before buying.

With transfers by PC you can use wifi-fi or iTunes, but you can

can also try the free iPhone explorer

http://www.macroplant.com/iphoneexplorer/

This way you can enter your directories on an iDevice with no need of iTunes nor Wi-fi. And it is legal; you do not need to jailbreak your device.

Very effective for big transfers such as sample banks.

(Seems a little buggy, though, occasionally I have to restart it to make it find the directories) Very effective for big transfers such as sample banks.

Thanks - that's very cool. I've been trying to work out how to get content into Keynote - nice app in most respects but has some very frustrating limitations (like a lot of IOS stuff) and one seems to be how to get media into it easily - especially with no Dropbox suport). I want to embed a movie file in a presentation - anyone know what file format they need to be in? Also why won't it accept audio files or allow hyperlinks? That is stupid.

Enjoy
I like deconstruction (Though I can not hear a word of what the guy is saying)and Aeteral a lot. Good work.

Unfortunately it is made on an iDevice, so you understand that this is not real nor good music, all right? A pity, because it sounds great :hihi:

Synth, sampler, a sequencer, a mixer, some fx

Does iPad with some apps can do this ?

Yes (beatmaker, nanostudio, isequence, rebirth, .... + audio copy)

At this point the only limitation i meet in producing music on iPad is due to the lack of ram (only 256 mo on iPad v1) an issue iPad 2 owners perhaps don't have (audio apps are intensive about ram usage so sometime you need to reboot the device to clean the ram , a less than 30 s operation )

Sure there are many limitation about audio shaping manipulation, the same we had with the first hardware samplers too

And i admit i miss the sound of uad plugins

But seriously with iPad i have more than what i could expect to own in the beginning of the 90's

And music was good in the 90's
This is an excellent point. People have been making music with far less equipment capability than the iPad has for years. With an iPad and an IO Dock, it's a pretty amazing little machine.

You only have to reboot if you can not stop some apps from running in the background.

Meanwhile you can clean your ram with a lot of freeware and payware apps. I use "System Manager" and "Memory Booster HD" in conjunction on my iPad 2. Together they can free as much as 300+ out of 500 MB ram. Make a search in the app store and download them. You can also use key words such as "free memory" and other apps will appear to choose from.
