I have some bad news for you. Not all people are such "Dongle-haters" as you and Kriminal are...Teksonik wrote:Look a little further..........Ingonator wrote:i could not see any "nails in the coffin"

I got two, one with Korg Legacy Collection Digital Edition and then with Arturia Jupiter 8V (both boxed versions).Yatmandu wrote:Well, I hate'em too, but since I need one for Cubase, the damage is already done!
It's not bad news for me. I could care less if people allow themselves to be suckered into paying extra to protect some company's software...I don't hate dongles I simply refuse to purchase software that requires them..........purely on principles alone.Ingonator wrote: I have some bad news for you. Just a coincidence. The vast majority of the software I own is not from Synapse......and none of it requires a Dongle.Ingonator wrote:BTW: Looks like a conspiracy of Synapse Audio beta testers here.
Oops, i was one one them too.![]()

No, One Dongle is too many...........One Dongle = One Lost Customer times an unknown number of other people who refuse to go Dongle. Unless you're giving Dongles away for free..........It's certainly a right of each company to choose their method of CP just as it's the right of each consumer not to do business with companies who require extra payment to protect their products.xavier wrote:- iLok and eLicenser choice (one dongle is enough)
And what part of that concept is giving you problems? There is nothing for you to explain. I'm not paying extra even if it's 12 euros to protect a company's work when there are dozens upon dozens of plugins that do not require me to pay extra for their protection.Ingonator wrote: I tried to explain this several times, not only in this thread but some people seem to have a "philosophical" problem with dongles in general.
I guess i got your (and Kriminal's) point about never using dongled products, i'm not that stupid. If you read my last post correctly this was a general comment (addressed to Xavier) and not related to a certain person.Teksonik wrote:No, One Dongle is too many...........One Dongle = One Lost Customer times an unknown number of other people who refuse to go Dongle. You can argue all day about the technical disadvantages or advantages to each method of CP but in the end I simply will not purchase products that require a Dongle and I'm not alone.
A company must weigh the number of lost sales from people who will not purchase Dongles against the added sales from warez kiddies and pirates who may be forced to purchase a product because there is no cracked version......... There has been no study to my knowledge that can prove each cracked version in use equals one lost sale........it's far more likely in my opinion that a warez user will simply move on if they can't get something for free..........
I have never and never will use cracks or warez of this you can be sure........just as you can be sure I will never purchase a Dongled product........on principles alone. Surely that concept is not difficult to grasp............
I see you still don't get my point. It's OK if you want to discuss about Xils Lab and it's copy protection but then please open a new thread like e.g. "Xils Lab: Dongles or other copy protections", maybe including a poll with different choices.Teksonik wrote:Discussion about Method of Copy Protection is not "derailing" this thread.........Any company should want to know what potential customers think about their business decisions.......especially when those decisions make consumers no longer "potential customers"..............Besides your real main concern is that no one speak ill of this developer..........do NFR copies require a dongle?
What's totally unfair is you trying to dictate what I can or can not post on an open forum.........Especially after you thought it was perfectly acceptable to Spam this product's group buy on a competing developer's closed Beta forum...............bit of hypocrisy there.....Ingonator wrote:It's totally unfair.........turn this into a flame war against dongles again.
And I see you still don't get my point......I'll post what I want here. My discussion is with the developer's decision to use Dongles......not a discussion with one of his sound designers.........Ingonator wrote:I see you still don't get my point. Since your discussion doesn't concern Krim's problems with his demo, it was a derailment of that thread. Now you have a thread all your own and XILS' dongles are its topic.Teksonik wrote:I'll post what I want here. My discussion is with the developer's decision to use Dongles......
Locked only while I was splitting it. It's unlocked now. Both threads are legitimate topics for discussion.Ingonator wrote:My intention was for sure not that the other thread about a possible bug would be closed
