I've always been intrigued by this and just noticed this is on summer sale

its doesnt seem to crop up much in discussion here on KVR. I have a limited budget and i'm current saving for one of the popular workhorse synth's (Zebra2 or Alchemy) so I was wondering if I should pick this up in the meantime, or keep saving?

At these price it's a bargain and due it's modular interface,you can build every synth you can immage,so it's a great didactit tool too

I like to think of KarmaFX Modular as a combination lock, you can try for hours when all of a sudden, click, you open the lock to something special.

And the benefit of that is, you have exactly how it is laid out right there in front of you.

Not even remotely similar to Zebra so owning both would be a good choice.

The distorted unison leads in Karma FX are like nothing else in software imo.

Huh, interesting!

I demoed KarmaFX a while back, bought VAZ Modular instead 'cuz it clicked with me better.

Don't regret it BUT since I'm prolly getting a Mac laptop AND VAZ is PC-only, this sale is very appealing!

Does anyone know if KarmaFX allows microtonal tuning like Scala .TUN files?

As I haven't played with a full modular synth before, I downloaded the demo yesterday and I was hooked immediately. After fooling around couple of hours, I bought it. I especially like the fact that the number of modulators is not limited. Or any other modules for that matter. A nice feature is the (optional) animation of the modulated knobs, you can really see what is happening. The GUI is nice too and there are several skins to choose from. The best thing, though, is the sound. Today I spent two hours just with a string pad alone, it just felt so good. I would gladly have paid the full price, but this summer sale was just icing on the cake.

I've put in some overtime at work the last couple weeks so I bought the full version of KarmaFX. It's a lot of fun--the Additive and Filter modules are particularly impressive.

I'm not crazy about where Controller modules are placed (after Filters/Oscillators, NOT before) but I can see how it makes sense in handling polyphony.

I'll still use my other software modulars (VAZ, Tassman, and Reason), but Karma is a great value, especially at this price.

It's an awesome bit of software. I like the way LFO or audio signals are treated the same, just like in a real modular. So you can modulate one oscillator's pulse width with the signal of another oscillator and all sorts of crazy stuff. The sampler module really beefs up the sound possibilites too, especially given you can modulate the position, pitch and stuff on the fly.

It's also an amazing effects workbench.

Hmm... I played with this when it was in the early development stage, and haven't looked at it since. Seems like a pretty good price. The question is, would I even use it when I already have Reaktor, Synthmaker, Synthedit, a Nord Modular G2, and a rather large eurorack modular. Trying to get my GAS under control. Decisions...

KarmaFX modular is the easiest modular soft synth Ive tried. I also own Reaktor, Vaz Modular and Tassman, and find KarmaFX a welcome addition. It also has the easiest to use sample player module compared to the others mentioned.
