I bought this thing like 2 or 3 years ago, and registered it once using my old pc, then had to register it AGAIN last year when I moved to the east coast. I have since lost the original box, and the last time I tried contacting IK Multimedia about it, they claimed they had no record of me ever registering it, and refused to give me any kind of help whatsoever. ALL I NEED ARE THE FREAKING DRIVERS! I have slaved for days looking for a download ANYWHERE online, and this isn't the first time I have been on this quest. Right now (and for the next few months), all I have is my laptop to play through. I cannot afford to buy an amp or to purchase something extra to make a product I already paid for a long time ago to make my gizmo work again. I have read through forums here and elsewhere and have gotten NOWHERE, even after following the instructions listed by IK Multimedia personnel in regards to other users having the same issue. They claim there is a "free" logon to get them... I have been all over that website up and down and this is simply not possible. Why can't they just put the freaking drivers where you can download them like EVERY OTHER COMPETENT DEALER/MANUFACTURER? I don't need anything else but the drivers to make this work. I have all my own progs to use it with, and the full versions... Just the driver! Can somebody, anybody help me!? I really don't want to resort to dealing with arguing with them for 3 hours again over a stupid driver. I just want to be able to play my guitar again

i don't have, and have never used, Stealthplug but my understanding is that it is basically a soundcard, right?(audio in/out). if so, and you just need a driver for your hardware, why not give asio4all a shot? http://asio4all.com/
i can't say it would work, but worth a try....

I've heard some weirdness, like here- http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... tealthplug
Now it doesn't make sense that you need the bundled software for the driver, but I can't tell you otherwise, I don't own one. Scares me off of that brand.

Yeah I already gave the asio4all a try. I keep a copy of that on every pc I've owned "just in case" I might need it later lol. It did not work this time around. I was *LUCKY* enough to finally stumble across a download for a working driver a couple hours after I made this post and haven't been home since to get back to anyone. I had also opened up a ticket with IK Multimedia, explaining in great detail what my problem was... They weren't much help, and by the time they responded I had found the driver. I AM giving second thoughts to using Amplitube, though. None of my previous pcs could run it as smooth as my current one, and now that I finally have a beast guitar to use, this thing sounds amazing. So NOW I am going to have to figure out how I am going to register Amplitube without having to make another purchase. This kind of stuff is exactly the kind of "weird" you mentioned there RunBeerRun. I've seen all kinds of crap like that all over the internet. It doesn't make sense to me about that either, but that's how they are running stuff over there. It blows my mind, actually. Never seen anything quite like that online. Obik... I don't have a user area to access, because I misplaced the original box and the serial number card and all that ages ago. I already registered it twice a long time ago, but according to IK, I never did. Whatever, that doesn't matter. What do I need to do to get my serial and digital ID so I can register this, to avoid any future problems??? If you tell me I have to shell out any more money on this, I'm not buying another IK product ever in my life... And also... If you guys need some help making your website a little more user friendly to COMPLETELY get rid of these horrible, horrible problems people are having with this and other products and the user areas, I might be able to give you some really good tips...

Honestly, I have no idea where I downloaded it. I found it on a forum after pages and pages of searching in google. I don't remember what site it was. I wound up solving my own issue through what I am assuming is a glitch. The support team emailed me a link to the auto-authorization wizard, which I downloaded. I was asked to create an account, so I did, and then after confirming email, the next page ASKS FOR THE SERIAL NUMBER! Doesn't that defeat the purpose of an "auto" authorization wizard? At any rate I said to hell with this, and closed it. Then the idea occurred to me to attempt logging in using that account I just created. It freaking WORKED. So now I have access to the Stealthplug driver if I ever need it in the future, and the preset exchange. Cool stuff. I am going to *try* to overlook this little problem a bit, and give IK a chance to show me what they can do. I just acquired an iPhone(WooHooo!), so I might check out that iRig thing or whatever it was called, and see what else they have to offer. If the future is smooth sailing with IK, I might also invest in a Stealthpedal so I can rock Facebook's face completely off. Guess they will have to just rename it "Book" after that...

Creating a new account does not solve your problem as your StealthPedal is registered under your old one which is why it asked for a serial number. Either way glad you got it working and if you have any other questions let me know.

I too had the problem you mentioned, ragnaroksangel (lost sn). I have the discs. The 1st is the Stealth Plug program along with AmpliTube 2 Live. I also have the cable. The product was bought in 2006 and there have been several upgrades since then, but there was nothing to be done since I can't access the drivers. The second disc is the game "Tank" and some sample media.
Now, I will be the first to admit the mistake was mine for losing the numbers, but I don't feel that as a "good-faith" customer I should be SOL. I also understand about pirating and that this is IK's way of protecting its product. But long story short, here I am with the software and no way to use it. I contacted Musician's Friend to at least e-mail me the proof of purchase, but nothing worked.
I am currently am in the market for another virtual amp program, and unless there's a better one on the market, I'll spring for another Stealth.
I am assuming (yeah, I know the old adage) that the cable itself can be used for another virtual program even though it carries the Stealth name?
Thanks
W
